@@SuperRon mate, I just want to thank you for taking the time to upload your videos, I'm late to the 20vt swap game, I was always a MK1/MK2 Golf with Kr16v/9a16v swap kinda guy, but by the time the MK4 platform came out I'd jumped to E30's with 325i/328i conversions, NA is so much simpler and RWD obviously 😂 But I've come back home since lockdown, I'm now 80% through a MK2 Scirocco 20vt full rebuild, the engine loom is completed and it runs, but the dash loom hasn't been touched yet so I appreciate anything I can learn from you! So I don't think I'm alone in saying we'd watch 45min+ videos if that's what it takes to get across what's needed

@SuperRon , I know from my friends that upload to KZbin about how much time goes into editing and replying to comments so thanks for taking the time to put your skills online, especially for the likes of me, I'm from before turbo charging (unless you count that one Uno turbo disinterested into a roundabout in 1991 😬) but by the times the 20vt was launched into the VAG fleet I'd moved to the dark side (BMW) because, apart from the VR6 and the 20vt the "MK4" platform was basically boring and it handled nothing like it's predecessor (power to weight) without expensive upgrades... But, during lockdown I saw the error of my ways and started a MK1 platform 20vt conversion, and some 3.5yrs later it's JUST going back together 😂 So for people like me who are playing catch up in their own workshops your videos are invaluable, so like @@filiprolek7509says, we are happy to watch 45min plus videos if that's what it takes to show what's needed Thanks again, catch you next week 😉👍

I've bought one of the DBW brackets for my build and am going to weld it in like you have done. Did you fit rivnuts to the bracket to make fitting the pedal afterwards easier or did you just struggle with the nuts and bolts? Seems like it'll be a c**t to fit one the bracket is welded in.
@SuperRon9 ай бұрын
I did think about riv nuts but I ended up just struggling with nuts and bolts as I was already laying in the footwell. Hopefully it's the kind of thing you'd only have to fit once.

@SuperRon9 ай бұрын
The 1.8t loom does need 'converting' to run it's own standalone mini fusebox. You can keep your beetle fusebox to run the rest of the car, then the new 1.8t fuse box just needs an ignition live, battery live and earth.
