Very cool interview with a true craftsman who learned the old fashioned way, through years of experience and continuous learning and improvement. Great attitude and desire to do great work is always going to produce a skilled professional. And local walnut is a great tonewood, as well and nice maple.

Admired Wayne’s work for years. The Cody sisters here in Colorado, have “ sister guitars. Same tree I heard. The can really play! Thanks Mr Henderson!

I have had the pleasure of talking a bit with Wayne quite a few times, and we always had fun. I am also a Luthier here in Virginia, about an hour or so from Wayne's place, but have not talked to him in years. I really need to visit him soon. He is a national treasure, and as friendly and humble as one person can be. My guitars will never be as good as a Henderson, but I will keep trying to reach anywhere close to his level of the art.

When you look at this man you may not realize that you are looking at an American treasure. I know I will never own one of his works but it is a privilege to see a Stradivarius level artist in our time. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Something in the water in that part of the country. So many great builders but Mr. Henderson is the peak of guitar builders on those Appalachian Mountains.

How interesting this story about Mr. Henderson is however, I played guitar for 50 years and honestly never heard of him until watching this video today. I used to be able to play eletric, steel strings and, now I mostly play my 2 favorite classical guitars because the treble strings are plastic. This is easier on my finger tips now that I hit the big 62, the necks are wider but, my hands are big enough so, I still play them daily. I can remember first learning how to Travis picking over 30 years ago, my playing took off like a rocket. I play guitar, fiddle, mandolin and, keyboards some as well. I thank you for sharing this video about Mr. Henderson, it's been an absolute treat learning about this fine guitar maker and, fine guitar player!

I've read "Clapton's Guitar" but it's a treat to just hear what a down-to-earth, humble guy Wayne is. It's nice to know there are people with talent who stay grounded in this age where there are many with not so much talent who think so much of themselves.

For those of you who are just now discovering the legendary Mr. Henderson & his ultra-fine acoustic guitars, I invite you to google up "Dream Guitars".......a guitar shop that only deals in the best, rarest, & most expensive guitars on the planet, to see several of Mr. Henderson's outstanding custom dreadnought's fashioned after the pre-war era Martin D-45's, yet made even better. Prepare to be astonished, both in the sheer beauty & detail......as well as the prices his guitars are worth, and the Henderson guitars for sale on their website weren't even owned by any famous musicians. If any of them were, they would cost even more.
