When you have the shifter installed it takes it out of gear as it engages another, you are engaging more then onr gear at s time so of coarse its binding ...
@joekirby13512 ай бұрын
Thanks for that info. I will need to check on the shifter and see what it is not getting into the gears. So, by looking at these gears can you tell if 5th is 1:1 or 1:0.8?

Unfortunately no. I haven't driven my truck in a month or so either. I need to run it and check it over some more.

Awesome and Thanks. At car shows I always look for Y-Blocks. October of 2020 I drove it from Central Missouri to Central Pennsylvania for Truckstock. She goes through oil a bit, but otherwise ran great. I did back roads there and interstate back since it was running so well.

It is a beauty. I met the owner at Truckstock. A gathering of 48-56 ford truck guys. He is out of the Akron Ohio area. Another note about this truck, the bed rails is a air tank. I think the engine runs the compressor so he always has full air available. Here is a link to an FTE thread with more pictures. www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1634538-new-roll-call-for-central-pa-mountain-truckstock-2020-a-9.html#post19513035

Thank you for keeping that engine alive. My 56 will have one in it maybe later in the year. Glad you didn't put some GM crate motor in it . Not that I'm against GM, they just don't belong in Fords.

Thanks, It just seems right having a Y-block in her. Since it was my wife's grandpa's truck. Keeping it mostly original is important too.
