Basically, it cuts like any other pro saw, runs well, easy to start, will last years if treated well and properly. Save yourself hundreds of pounds and buy this good and decent saw for £100. Sometimes I feel you are buying into the brand with Stihl. Ever since they moved manyfacturing to China, the parts have gotten cheaper. Echo is decent, as is Husqvarna. HOWEVER, I will be using this Parker saw. Decision made. If this saw lasted 5 years in a professional setting, you would be paying £220 every 10 years. The question is really, why wouldnt you use this saw? FYI I am a gardener/landscaper - Greenscaped Gardens based in South East Kent, UK

Nice Job! I have made some of these also. Have you thought about making the handle material out of say fatwood? A consumable product like the ferro rod itself? I am not trying to be negative just that the ferro rod is consumable, and when it is gone you have a great looking stubby handle. I have several ferro rods made with antler and wood and after a recent discovery of a rod that deteriorated from storage I am rethinking my use and storage of ferro rods. I do enjoy making handles for my ferro rods, but something to ponder over a cup of your favorite Beveridge.
