No mention of dariacore in this video would be my 9/11. I'll get back to this in a few nights whenever I finish this vid

Reminder that WB will waste money on things like: 1. Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League = a game that no asked from the Arkham devs 2. 2 seasons of that horrible Velma cartoon = that everyone memed on 3. The knockoff Smash Bros clone, Multiversus = that no one is playing 4. Joker 2 = an sequel to a movie that didnt need a sequel But not renew a show that people actually want to watch.

Watching more of your videos I expected to see some progress in your writing and delivery. But every single one is this sloppy writing and awful delivery. Jfc

It's awesome to see more people covering Archer. Although, you're missing one thing; you don't note that it's a twisted genie of effectively pure hedonism. It's basically a teenage boy's wet dream to be everything that Archer is (handsome, stylish, suave, strong, spy, etc), but taken to the logical conclusion via improv. "I want to drive the supercar!" "Yes, and?" *[He crashes it]* "I want to have sex with a lot of women" "Yes, and?..." *[He gets the clap so often it's really more like an applause at this point]* And so on. This, though, is ultimately causing the emasculation of Sterling; he constantly tries to use bravado to make himself look manly and cool, but the end result emasculates him every time.

There's a bit of irony in the fact that the antithesis to Archer's man-child tendencies is from Pam of all people. She eschews masculine tropes not so much by ignoring them, she's arguably less in control of her impulses than Archer himself, but by not caring about the way anybody views her but herself. Basically Archer without the ego.

I never really got how VB season 1 is so disliked by the fans. Sure the show was finding its footing in alot of ways and the later seasons are a big jump in quality, but I think those early episodes definitely have a charm to em that makes the episodes fun to revisit and generally entertaining. It may just be my general appreciate for early [adult swim] content and scatological humor, but even the weaker season 1 stands taller than the best seasons of some other shows.

Gotta work on that script writing and delivery. Speed talking for this long gets tedious. This is more of a recap than a retrospective.

I thought about giving them more attention but since so many of them were just adaptations of existing movies and stories it would have gotten repetitive after the first few seasons. That and the non-canon nature of the shorts meant that even if I did include descriptions, the cast acting out of character and the fact that there's no expectation of consistency going in to the Halloween specials makes the whole exercise seem pointless.

This really reflected high school just before 2000 for me. Notably the cliques weren't really antagonistic to the extreme we see, and were porous. I was a nerd in every way. I hung out with drama kids too. But sitting around and talking with the varsity sports players at a party wouldn't be weird. We didn't really socialize because our interests and attitudes were different, but it wasn't mean spirited. They were just people outside my friend group. Like. Brittany and Daria are practically congenial coworkers by the end. Quinn and her friends try to be "popular" and cliquey, but are they really popular? Daria seems to have the wider social circle. This was way more realistic. And the bullying ir lack there of was really subtle. Honestly again it was just really Quinn and her friends bullying each other. Bullying was a real problem but not this over the top nobke/peasant level crap you see out of Hollywood. I have heard high school has gotten worse, unfortunately. But I blame social media. The real enemies were never the other students. They were the stupidity of adults and society at large. But even the "bad guys" felt like people. Okay and my mom idolized Daria's mom ;-). It spoke to me. But I was basically the same age as Daria for its run.

The Simpsons Ages: my observed breakdown: Stone Age: 1-2 Golden Age: 3-8 Silver Age: 9-14 Bronze Age: 15-30 Silicon Age: 31 - Present Because there seems to be a general consensus on when the quality declines, I would argue the silver age begins in season 9 and ends in 14 when rating began to decline after that season. There is a general trend of viewership loss with season 15 onward: this would suggest that the show is not as pop culturally significant (and potentially not as well received) and previous seasons. Ratings are not equivalent to quality, but for an iconic show like The Simpsons, rating falling would indicate that something went wrong from a quality perspective. With season 31, the show has gained some new life and appears to be entering a new age of quality. If you have dropped off after the Silver Age, you may be pleasantly surprised by the new episodes.

I used to GENUINELY believe it wasn’t ok for me to watch that show, or get into black media in general, I thought it would like make me a culture vulture or something and the last thing I wanted to do was be THAT white person and just take everything they love and enjoy, but last year a friend was like no pls watch it with me, and I was like ok if it’s ok! And they where like yes you stupid idiot 😭😂 I love the show now, I love learning about its creator too, this GEM of humor, and social commentary, and goldmine for characters you just love and laugh with, and I couldn’t believe i waited so long! I also didn’t really get into adult swim shows for a long time because they scared me as a child 💀 now there’s multiple that I’m very fond of!!

Wait, did they bomb whales or did they bomb Wales? 'cause one of those would be a tragedy.
@viedogaems13 күн бұрын
They thought the bomb detonated over the ocean but found out they were closer to London than they thought - meaning it hit Wales instead of Whales. A season 6 episode followed up on this pun by having the title 'Save the Wales'.

I want to point out that while Nujabes is a great artist and contributor of the Samurai Champloo’s OST, he wasn’t the sole contributor. Fat Jon, Tsutchie, and Force of Nature were also providing amazing tracks of there’s as well. It’s great that people are giving Nujabes flowers, but you gotta give Fat Jon, Tsuchie, and Force of Nature flowers as well for their contributions and amazing tracks.
@viedogaems14 күн бұрын
I mentioned them in the original script but took the other names out in editing since I didn't make any real deep cut comparisons in the way I did Nujabes. But you're absolutely right about that!
