Just got back from Scotland. Toured the Palace in Edinburgh and thought the voice actor did a great job with the audio tour. Alas no credit to him on the audio visual device they give out for visits. And didn’t think to look for the management company for the audio.

This is great, but I might alter the title to add a comma or a colon after voice actors because the way it currently reads is stating that voice actors do not get audited.

What if someone ask yous to do a 'AABBCC' audition, what does that mean?
@AtlantaVoiceoverStudioАй бұрын
Well, we've never had anyone ask that before. So if I had to guess, I'd say AA would be 2 of the same type of reads, then BB try it a different way (the same way twice in a row) and then the same for CC. But odds are no one will ask this. And if they do, you simply say, "I've never heard that direction before. Can you please explain?" :) Hope that helps!
@kennymackie3191Ай бұрын
@AtlantaVoiceoverStudio aaah, I had it on 'Casting Call Club'. It's mentioned there alot. The way I've done it so far has been: I read a line 2 different ways and put that on a file And the following line I read 2 different ways too It is strange, I haven't seen any proper explanation of it
@AtlantaVoiceoverStudioАй бұрын
@@kennymackie3191 Oh, very interesting! I've never seen that. Sounds like you did it well, though! In any case, if you have the opportunity, it's never "wrong" to ask for an explanation. And if a person/company gives you grief for asking, then they'll not be someone/a company that you'd probably not want to work with anyway. Good job, though!

Erika J, I gather that you are saying that having good coaching can help focus our efforts. Yet I wonder , Did those experiences not give you some experience as a beginner? Sometimes finding “not it” helps you find what is “it”? Did doing all the extra not give you some valuable repetitions with your process? Thank you for sharing your experience.
@AtlantaVoiceoverStudio3 ай бұрын
Good thoughts @nafawi7965! You're on to something. We all make mistakes when we begin (and beyond), and can learn from them. We believe Erikka J's points were to avoid these "easy" mistakes. Yes, we can learn. For example, if you hear about her mistakes, understand why they were mistakes, and avoid making them yourself...you've learned something and would save yourself time and money. Thanks for watching!

I would love to be doing voiceover work. I am slowly working on trying to do some things but I seem to struggle for time between my job, my podcast I do and trying to get learning in on the voice over industry. I have done a cpl of samples and am trying to make more since as I understand you can't have too many.
@AtlantaVoiceoverStudio4 ай бұрын
Little by little @retrolife4you! We all have to do what we can do until we can do what we want to do. It all depends on what your priorities are. What's bringing you the most return on your time. Is the podcast a labor of love? Is it bringing in listeners? Is it really what you want to do? Or is voice over a priority? Just some of the questions that may help you figure out what's right for you. The job, of course, is #1 b/c it pays the bills. There's no right or wrong. It's up to you. Anyone will tell you: get training in voice over before you make demos or samples. There's more competition these days, but if you train, you'll stand out way more. Understand the business side as well and you'll have even more tools in your tool belt. Check out parts 1 and 2 on How to Get into Voiceover (kzbin.info/www/bejne/fKCZnKeOrZmVnNE). We have a lot of videos on this channel - FREE advice - to help guide you. We're here if you need us! Cheers to you and your success!
