Nah 3 Remake is still pretty good. It’s just not great like 2 and 4 Remake. The actual biggest fumble was Re6. I still wouldn’t call it a bad game but Capcom turned its survival horror franchise into a call of duty clone fully and genuinely wanted to go in that direction before the reception gave them a reality check.

The only good part of this game and it's highlight for me is when you have to backtrack to the subway station after turning on the power plant, and you have that one, that one single almost unscripted chase sequence with nemesis, one thing that they nailed in this single chase sequence is the feeling of iminent dread when you hear him sprinting at you full speed, i was genuinely scared the first time it happened. If they made the city section more open, and let nemesis actually randomly chase you around, like in this one chase sequence, regardeless of if the game was still short, i would absolutely love it. Oh and fuck achievements in this game, 100% re2 was far easier then getting a single achievement in 3 remake

I have a very strong theory that after the disappointment of Nemesis in RE3R, Behavior made the Resident Evil chapter for Dead By Daylight to completely redeem the character. Like seriously, tell me going up against an undetectable Nemesis is not the scariest thing in the game

I think the reason why Jill was like she is right now because she and Claire has pretty much the same personality so they changed her image in the video remake. I like her right now but I agree the cussing is too much. Nemesis was scary in the demo because I thought it was gonna be like that the whole game but sadly it wasn't.

They definitely got Jill wrong in this remake. Like, how is she different from Claire? Characters are important. Jill is supposed to be level headed, intelligent, a more intellectual character. She thinks things through. I always likened Jill to Scully from X Files. Claire is supposed to be the "tough chick", Jill is the "strong woman". Its a nuance, I guess.

The game was genuinely scary and fun, Nemesis was still absolutely terrifying for me, and sure it was short but not super short for basic gamers. Also there was an extra kendo bit in the re2 remake the ghost survivors situation had him escaping through the sewers if I remember correctly. The nostalgia is what killed the game, it fell short of expectations so the old fans just decided it was an abomination but it really is fun

They removed the entire Clock Tower section of the game. MY FAVORITE PART.

I agree with your sentiment that RE3 remake isn't the best. As a fellow RE fan, i adore a lot of the games, especially the modern remake trilogy. But 3 is where it dips down imo. As for the gameplay, i absolutely love the graphics and core gameplay loop. Except for the dodge roll. I feel that aspect of the game trivializes the already short experience by making it easier when the mechanic is mastered. Overall, I see it as more of the game i love, but essentially just dlc to the RE2 remake. I got it when it was on a big sale, so i didnt lose much buying it. It is a lot shorter than the other games so its nice as a bite size RE experience for repeat playthroughs/ speed running. In the end, RE3 is alright for me

Hopefully one day we will get a RE3R Remake.

Man RE3R genuinely disappointed me when it came out I used to see gameplay of the original and it terrified me as a kid and when the remake came out I was super excited after how great RER was but this game was so disappointing so much cut content and nemesis was an absolute joke in the remake compared to the original and Jill was off in the remake as well and Raccoon City was so small I felt like in RE2R I saw more of Raccoon City than in the game where Raccoon City was your playground also Jill Sandwich
