I think this is really the best retrogame of the 90s

Ahhhh memories.. I drove 2 hours to pick this game up when i got a PS 1 for Christmas. I remember i was pissed because i was supposed to geta memory card as well and i forgot! Games were SO MUCH harder back then. I did finish Descent but, it took me forever.

If you're interested in doing another Descent run, maybe try doing The Enemy Within. It's a pretty fun set of levels with all-new enemies. Even the player ship and cockpit design is different.

how did you get high resolution textures in game? I have d1x rebirth to play descent and while it gives you native widescreen support, all the graphics are very pixelated

Thank, I'm just getting used to the controls again.. this was a true pleasure to watch, I hope to get back to being half this good again.. This game.. I have decided might be my favorite game... maybe one of the best ever.. Been lots of good shoooters, lots of flying sims and racers and RPG's and platformers.. so many games.. But THIS when it came out blew my mind, I always wonderd if it was NOSTALGIA and the WOW factor of playing a PROPER 3D game multiplayer..ectect.. But nope, going back and recently pllaying it and watching this.. what a game..no 3 hour interactive movie tutorials.. no being forced to play each level a certain way and being sold as "player freedom" no bs.. just good honest video game, 100% gameplay with no gimicks and just flying the craft when you get to this level is so satisfying.. Amazing how much BLOAT is the problem in newer games, I'm here for GAMEPLAY.. something you can just absorb yourself into for hours without people trying to get into your head or feelings or pushing thier agendas. And man, its so smooth for mid 90s.. what an accomplishment.

Thank you for making this. Thought you'd like to know someone is still using it. Without it, I'd probably give up. Me and my buddies played hooky from work and bought it when it first came out in the nineties. I did play through it but I don't remember anything from when I first played it.

I remember playing this game with my friends in high school. We set up a network game in the school’s computer lab, put the game on Insane mode, and proceeded to blow each other up! One of the highlights of my childhood!

Man, this game was my childhood. It used to scare me as a kid, gave me the CREEPS. Looking back, it's a classic. The engine they created for this game was ahead of its time, and copied over and over. Thanks for the playthrough and STELLAR flying tactics.

By far my favourite combo ender after that string. It just looks... Right... I mean don't get me wrong the izuna finisher is amazing but the underworld drop makes it seem like Ryu uses his momentum from the last flying swallow to make the slam even more lethal!
