I bought this model new in 1984 as a left over. I kept it for 16 years and put over 81,000 miles on it and traveled all over the western U.S on it. On a particular trip far from home the stator failed at 68k. Other than that, this was reliable hard nose motorcycle that could do it all. Some of the best days of my life was on this very model.

Awesome straight forward video! I do have one question though. The adjuster rod that is connected to the fork cap, How do you remove that? I see in the video it stays together but could you pull the rod off the cap if you plan on replacing it? Mine is all torn up and i plan on installing a new one but your video doesn’t show exactly how that is done
@jordanperry93802 ай бұрын
Hello my good friend. There is an Allen bolt at the bolt of the fork that holds that rod assembly in place. If you unscrew that then it will come out.

I really coveted these bikes back in the late 1970's but never owned one. Had I seen this video when the bike was for sale, I may have asked you to ship it to me.

1976. I bought a brand new GS 550 in Great Falls Montana. I recognize that sound anywhere 1976 was the first year of the series. They also introduced the GS 750 that had five speeds but GS 550 had six I was never that crazy about fifth and six gear. The difference between them. But it does allow you to get up to 140 miles an hour because I did it that next day I'm Great Falls all the way up to glacier national Park lickety flick I was there. 55 minutes from Great Falls.

I had a silver GPZ 550 ZX in Australia. It was the same bike you have but mine had full fairing. i loved it as my daily transport to Sydney Airport from Parramatta in 1987-88 It had a death wobble at 180KPH, but if you powered on 215k down hill was my fastest

Thank you so much for making this video!! This bike (CB360) is my first. I'm cleaning the carbs and all the other guides I could find the carbs just aren't quite like this or the instructions aren't quite as detailed. You likely saved me having to do this twice! Super appreciate the work dude! P.S. r/fixxit is awesome too!

I bought the purple one ( zx 6 e ) in may or june of 94 and totalled it in less than 4 weeks and went ahead and bought the green one about 2 months later as soon as I was able to get back to normal. Guess what? I chrushed that one as well but doing only 65 mph this time and the bike didn't roll and tumble only slid on its left side. Well, I ended up riding it till about 2008 and loved every moment of it. What a beautiful and friendly bike it was!! I am 63 now and wish I still had it🫤

Lovely,brings back great memories of the bygone era of my youth.I had one in Germany around 84 (goddamn 40 years!)and it had only 15 ponies but it was nippy enough for a first bike.And the sound...I fell in love with it when I first started it -It was sold then!and it was so different from the CB400 I was used to for my driving lessons.A friend had a GT 125 and it was a sweet mashine.They sounded a lot bigger than what they were.

it is important to let the 450 engine idle for approximately 60-120 seconds prior to revving, or else you could do damage to the top end. it takes that amount of time for the oil to travel to the top end. it says so in the honda manual

didn't show the diagnosis to my problem... my 77 GS550 has a hole in the middle of the diaphragm. I need to know if this whole corresponds with the air inlet on the back of the petcock. or if it should straddle in some way?
