You say one of your main complaints is leaving Midgar (The tutorial area) Into this weird open world thing (The overworld, AKA the beginning of your journey lol) I think its safe to assume this def your first classic FF game? The overworld is like a staple of the SNES-PS1 Era FF games. This game in particular is massive, And idk if your aware but you can pull up a world map that literally shows you where everything is, With that mini map, You really shouldn't be getting so lost. The characters straight up tell you which direction to head, Just follow those directions and head for the nearest dot on your world map. By the time you get to the later discs, You'll have traveled the world so much you should be more than familiar with where everything is lol. But yeah, The original FF7 is an incredible experience, The recent remakes are solid too, But personally i find the way they're stretching them out into seperate games insufferable. They've released two entire games over the course of what, 5 years now? And have only just covered the first disc of the original. What made the OG FF7 so special was going on that epic journey across 3 discs, Obviously the PS1 hardware had limitations back then, But the pre-rendered backgrounds combined with the original OST provided such a heavy and unique atmosphere that the recent FF7 installments, Despite running on today's upgraded hardware, Just aren't able to capture. Overall, I think 9.5 is actually the perfect score for this. Its not flawless, But it's undoubtedly one of the most tremendous and important JRPGs of all time.

It still looks good today if you set it up right. A lot of games used pre-rendered backgrounds on the PS1. Resident evil also did. I'm surprised you dislike the open world portion of the game because that's always the part that I liked. That was the big reason I hated 13

I cant even get out of C- because they stack the other team like a nightmare level bad and I said “No. Im not playing this again.” Cause its just not worth the stress. I loved ranked in splatoon 2… this game I have touched it so little because the match making is a nightmare to where I cant improve as im being paired against people who definitely are playing on an alt account being paired with people who just got the game. Ive never gotten out of C- and frankly ranked is so stressful in this game i wouldnt even go near it if you payed me.

This was the first instance of this sort of character animation. It’s a historical game. Followed by FFX which was the first ff to have voice acting and rendered 3D backgrounds.

The one thing I’m really interested to see about the switch 2 is how backwards compatibility works. Will it be like the PS4-Ps5 where you can play the games a lot smoother on the new console, maybe buyable patches, or will they play the exact same?

As someone who started in splatoon 3 and mains .52 gal: I just main it because big damage weapon that can two shot anyone and the killer wail doesn't require you to do anything but pressing a button and looking in your opponents general direction

Well said on weapons not being broken and all coming down to skill. I've forced myself to get good with many weapons and learned the ins and outs of their weaknesses and how to better adapt to new situatuons *in general* because of it. And I still manage to win most competitive fights/at least do pretty good with the Splattershot Pro. Its all about how you learn to deal with things rather than one weapon being a god above them all

Splatoon 2 was a better game than Splat3 so far
