The 50 was the lens I learnt photography during the early 80s on my trusty Nikon FE. I still use that lens now on my D700 together with a 35mm. Thanks for sharing this video.

Thank you for the tips! I'm tasked to shoot my first school event and I don't have a zoom lens! I plan to bring a 35mm and a 90mm prime with me, and hopefully I'll be fast enough to switch between the two...

I hope your event went great! Switching prime lenses can be tough!

It went great! Thanks! I ended up using a lot of my 90mm as it gave a more dreamy look. I got a lot of compliments for my photos and am very glad of how it went

This was great but I'm gonna disagree on the the downward angle. I've gotten some great results with it when used subtly. Frankly, the shot at 5:11 isn't that bad. It really doesn't "diminish". A little lower and it's fine. One thing it does well is definitely eliminates the double chin. Anyone else use it?

There's one thing I come across again and again is, although we're talking about still pictures (on many other channels do this too) we see more video 🤷♀️!! And I have to stop the video and go back to be able to see what Im after . ..the photos that is.......just allow us to delight in your beautiful STILL photos❤. Is there anyone out there who still loves just plain still photos?

Yall wild using wide lenses. Shots look distorted and prime lenses are best.
@JessicaSterlingPhotography5 ай бұрын
Sometimes I would totally agree with you! It truly depends on what you're shooting and how you want the finished image to look. In shooting events, it is great to have a wide variety of lenses. I love primes (who doesn't?), but sometimes the versatility of a zoom is AWESOME.

So, what is the message in this video? Is it that photography is only great if you're into photographing a model? The dipstick has ignored all other types of photography!

If you take your lens off at the beach that is a no go even I know that and i'm brand new into this.

Love the video, love my fifty. I'll probably wake up in a cold sweat from a nightmare of even removing a lens on a windy beach, let alone holding it pressed against the body for a macro shot. Cleaning sand from the guts of my camera isn't on my to do list and I'd like to keep it that way. I'm sort of a chicken I guess.

1600 ISO seems really high. I could never get away with that on my Nikon D810. Noise isn't an issue with that high of an ISO? Best.

A video called "low light photo hacks" but it's all shot in the middle of the day. Urrgh.
@JessicaSterlingPhotography5 ай бұрын
You're right! It wasn't shot in the middle of the night, but the video was filmed as the sun was starting to go down. So you get that kindof light where it looks okay to your eye, but it is starting to get too dark for your camera. Plus most folks won't shoot in the utter darkness without a flash. All the tips hold true, and I hope they're helpful!
