I love Joe Walsh so much. HIs music builds such a beautiful nostalgia of my life as kid in Europe and current life in Britain. I will cherish your music forever ❤❤🥹🥹

My Dad introduced me to this Album in my early teens. Now all I can say to him as a communist in their 30s: "We built this house of cards, we can tare it down... Old man's on his porch, his house burning down. When he passes you his torch, lay it down."

My admiration for Chris Squire's musical talents is unsurpassed. His bass playing was the Number One Thing I always looked forward to when I listened to YES. If he hadn't loved singing as much as he loved playing bass, YES wouldn't have been half as magical as the band turned out to be. His falsetto was absolutely fantastic when paired with Jon Anderson's raspy tenor.' He knew he couldn't quite cut it as a top ranked lead singer like Robert Plant because he didn't have that "control" (vibrato) over his voice that most of the most admired rock lead singers have. But he could hit the high notes & had an ear for harmony that produced magical results for YES. As he showed on Fish Out Of Water, he could definitely hold his own as a lead singer of his own songs, its unique timbre standing out pleasantly. YES was his band & he deserved it.

that acoustic section that precedes the first verse almost sounds lifted from Styx's "Fooling Yourself."

It is the first time I found nearly direct quote from other song in Yes music - when singing starts at 2:15 there is strong presence of Michael Jackson’s song People Make the World Go ‘Round from 1972, vocal and even base line. And then this fragment "magnifies" into one of the best Yes songs )

I totally disagree this a simple zep kinda riff , a 1,4,5, its basically just a blues progression so. Doesn't matter the lyrics it's just a tune, not their best but I've also heard worse, they were just kids too, goes with thir first album which I Aldo think is awesome, glad for Alex to be wrong, .

My friend broke her leg I believe it was 1987 or 88 And we’d lovingly teased her And play this song while drinking beers by the San Francisco Bay “Just cuz I got one leg don’t mean I can’t twist I hop around peg leg style and you act like I don’t exist”

A dark reality delivered with the most inspiring music ever composed. Then end-capped with a most English horn pippet. I love this band.

That album cover is awesome. It looks like a classic Hipgnosis by the master himself, Storm Thorgeson. RIP

for all you drummers that think this kills (and it does) should know that Phil Collins stole this drumbeat to use in the Genesis song “Wat Gorilla?”

Somewhere out on that horizon Out beyond the neon lights I know there must be somethin' better But there's nowhere else in sight It's survival in the city When you live from day to day City streets don't have much pity When you're down, that's where you'll stay In the city Oh, oh Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh In the city Oh, oh I was born here in the city With my back against the wall Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty No one's there to catch you when you fall Somewhere out on that horizon Faraway from the neon sky I know there must be somethin' better And I can't stay another night Ooh In the city Oh, oh Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh In the city Oh, oh In the city In the city In the city Oh, oh
