@Shallex Neil's world was turned upside down and inside out by the deaths of his daughter, and then his wife, in such short order. The depth of his grief was such that he questioned his own mortality. He definitely lost all interest in playing drums. Kind of like Forrest Gump, all he could think to do was to get on his motorcycle and ride. He could not have known what was waiting for him at the end of that journey: That's what "Sweet Miracle" is all about. Websters defines "miracle" as "an extraordinary event manifesting DIVINE intervention in human affairs." (Emphasis mine.) For Neil, meeting Carrie Nuttall WAS a miraculous turn of events. Each found in the other what neither was necessarily looking for. Neil re-discovered a reason for living, and experienced something akin to a spritual re-birth. Which is something for which Alex, Geddy, and all long-term RUSH fans will be exceedingly and forever grateful.
