Our problems with most of you Houston sports podcasters is that you guys lack patience which a very good virtue to have. you can destroy what you spend 4 good years building bcos impatience. De’Aaron Fox you’re clamoring for is a career 33% 3pt shooter and 32% this season. How does that help space the floor for Amen and Sengun to attack downhill. Going forward Jalen & Amen should our back court,period. Okc is reaping the result of patience bro why can’t we do same.
@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk5 сағат бұрын
Fox shoots 48% from the floor. Shooting isn't just about 3 pt shooting. Fox is an elite PG for a reason. He's maybe the best clutch player/scorer over the last 3 seasons in the NBA. He's top 2 in each of the last 3 yrs in 4th Q pts. He's the fastest player in the NBA - which can unlock an offense - and makes him the perfect guy to run with Amen. It's not like he's 40 yrs old. He's entering his prime. He's 27. You've got a 7 yr window if you trade for him in the next few months. He's proven his ability to run a top tier offense with a player like Sengun (Sabonis). You don't have to give up all 7 of the young core to get him. At most, it's costing 2 or 3 & Sengun or Amen is not among them. Do you understand the likelihood of Reed Sheppard or frankly most of this core to even get to Fox is incredibly unlikely? If you went to Vegas & said Reed or Cam will be better than Fox one day, they'd laugh at you & take your money on any even odds bet. Lack of patience is trading for Jimmy Butler or KD - not an all-star guard Top 5 PG entering his prime
@luckychukwuma382253 минут бұрын
@ what did we learned from yesterday game against the Lakers. Just Simple! That’s put the damn ball in Jalen’s hands and watch him explode. The Rockets do not need any PG right now as that would limit Jalen abilities. we have one already. He’s name is Jalen Green. A back court of Amen & Jalen would be really dangerous for any team.

Portland doesn't want cap relief. It literally has no value to them. They want valuable assets, cap space is not an asset. Even during the rebuild, Portland always maintained a roster that falls just below the tax, mainly because Portland doesn't attract free agents of value. The incentive to open up cap space is diminished league wide even more so with the new cap restrictions for tax paying teams, meaning you have to match dollar for dollar. So offering them expiring contracts is a nonstarter. It's like offering them nothing. Despite fan belief, GM's are not dumb (alright maybe wrong on that). They want young guys and picks. I can't imagine a world where the asking price from Portland doesn't involve Jabari, Tari, or Cam as the centerpiece. "But we like those guys!" says the fan of Houston and I would say "exactly my point." Portland or any team for that matter, wants the stuff you like. These scenarios where team X gets valuable players for some version of Jeff Green or Kevin Love's expiring contract is just NBA2K fan fantasy craziness.

Peter is regurgitating metrics that don't tell the truth. Anfernee is a way better defender than Scoot H. The Trailblazers get blown out because of Scoot un force turnovers, the lack of ability to play man defense, and transition defense. Anfernee has grown leaps and bounds this season in these areas. Chauncey is asking him to give up shots for players who can't shoot. Keeping Anfernee out of rhythm on offense. They are tanking and asking him sideline his game for the other players that are not better him to grow. He's doing that. Now reporters say the Anfernee is the problem. Tanking and inexperienced in game coaching is the real issue here. Anfernee gets triple teamed on a regular basis, like Luka. Chauncey's isn't putting him in an environment to play his best. There is too many one-dimensional players around Anfernee on the Trailblazers roster. He would be and Allstars in the next couple of years on a team who valued him. He's a point guard. He is not your sixth man. The organization's future money-making scheme for the #1 pick is the only thing that hinders Simons' successful elevation. He's 6'4", and that large enough. The only difference in today's heights and other Era's are that they lied about how tall someone was. So his height doesn't mean a thing he can KISS the rim! Peter has his own opinion that I don't agree with. But it's just basketball. I'll keep him over 95% of the league. Diamond in the rough. Jus sayin....

In fact the grizzlies had 5 two way players on the court last night konchar, huff, pippin jr, cam Spenser, castleton and still beat the Suns. I've watched him dang near every minute he has played, and he can score a lot and fast. I watched him put up 22 points in 6 minutes. I don't know what's up with him, but he's going to have a 60 point game at some point. He's that good. He just needs the right team and the green light. He's a great dude with a good attitude. My biggest hope this season is that he goes to a playoff contender where he is appreciated.

Our needs are a PG and a defensive big that can play the 4th quarter and keep Sengun on the bench.
@krisg38186 күн бұрын
@JudaRod11 what u talking about sengun defense been good this year
@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk6 күн бұрын
When Sengun passes out of a double team, he's much more likely to hit an open 3 than Jalen. But more importantly, he's a better option than Reed or Holiday - which are the only options right now. I discussed it as a pkg w/ Timelord who's an elite defender
@JudaRod116 күн бұрын
@krisg3818 We lost the last two games because of Sengun. It's not totally his fault but he's a big reason why. Him and FVV. The problem with Sengun, the offense is run through him but it only fits him. It doesn't really fit J.Green and the rest of the guys. An uptempo with spacing is the offense we need. We will never be able to run like that with Sengun. And Sengun gets so comfortable with this offense that he play outside his strength like shooting 3s during critical stretch of the game where we can't afford miss shots. And he miss ALOT. And it's bad enough he miss shots alot. And there's no discipline when Sengun play wild like that. On the defensive side, he's allowing to many easy baskets. Too many. Julius Randle had a field day hitting 3s while other guys was doing lay-up drills right within his reach and Sengun just allow it. Against the Heat, he was no help to Bari and Amen who needed that weak-side defense help and Sengun was either too slow getting there or found stuck watching. It's tiring. It's not working man. Silas saw the same issues and used to bench Sengun during 4th quarters because he cost us leads and do the wrong stuff on offense. We need to go back to that if we want to start winning against elite teams. We are not winning against elite teams with Sengun in the 4th quarters. That's for sure! We need a defensive big like Robert Williams or Nic Claxton.
@JudaRod116 күн бұрын
@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk This is inaccurate. Sengun need to STOP shooting 3s. He hoisted one up in the 4th against the Heat when we least could afford that miss shot and he missed badly. Sengun is almost unplayable in the 4th. Silas saw the same issues. Ime most likely notice it too but try to work with Sengun to get better. He is not gonna get better, though. He's in his 4th year and still having issues where he's hurting us alot in the 4th quarters.

Booker wasn't just carrying that team by himself. CP3 was still pretty good. Bridges is an elite role player. Booker is not a Luka, Jokic, Giannis type who carries a mediocre team to 50 wins. If a better player becomes available, Fox is a pretty good asset to have if Giannis or ANT wants out -- and you will still have other 1st rd picks. I understand both sides if it was me I would say trade for Fox now I actually think he would be the better fit then Booker. You can argue with the spacing but Fox is more than capable of spacing the floor and hitting 3s if he needs to and he can obviously play with Sengun and Amen. But I also understand why the rockets at least want to wait to see how this plays out especially with the Suns since it’s possible they could get bounce out of the first round. But you can’t wait another two years for Kevin Durant to slow down and Booker to ask for a trade. So yeah it’s going to be interesting to see what the rockets do but if I had to guess they aren’t going to make any moves they probably going to wait until the summer to see what happens
