I thought FVV would be great to keep during the playoffs or play-in. But after seeing his play these last few games I would pull the trigger on Fox. Trade FVV, Reed and picks. No way would I add Cam. Cam has the potential to be our future leading scorer one day. We will be a faster team which will unlock JG’s ability even more. This slow half court offense is killing us.

Great talk guys but I don't get one part about all these trade talks and value of players. How Ben thinks JG's value not decreasing as time goes. JG will be 50th most paid guy in the NBA 1 spot under Alpi next year. 26/27 he will 40th player and 1 spot over Alpi. If his contract will be expiring in that scenario I get that point but he also have 1 year player option which I believed at least should be team option because of his play so far his career. And we all agreed on we should be doing big move if not at trade deadline but at least at summer which bringing high usage guard player. If we don't put JG in that trade somehow bring guy like fox or booker, JG's value will automaticly hit rock bottom because we know he don't do little things. He should be high usage guy to have some sort of value. We also have other players trying to show themselves for their first contract like Bari, Amen, Tari so on. So I'm not sure how JG will be in our team with that contract. I personally wait for summer to see our guys at playoff setup, kinda waste 1 year in that sense but if Fox is avaliable not waiting for summer to be traded maybe I'll pull the trigger.

I want van vleet and Jalen gone they both get on my nerves with there terrible efficiency. Only reason I would prefer to trade fred is because we already know who he is Jalen is still young and might figure it out. My untouchables are amen and sengun. My next closest untouchable would be cam Whitmore . Reason why is because he averaged almost 12 ppg in 18 minutes per game last year. Im high on cam because I see a guy who can shoot the 3 well above league average very athletic and can be efficient. If Jalen dont work out you have cam that can step in. But in my humble opinion I honestly think cam has way more potential to be great than Jalen. Anyone else I really don't care if we trade. I think Jabari could have some value to people. Because of the unknown. He doesn't get enough shots on this team with who we got taking shots. Sometimes he plays well sometimes he doesn't but some teams might look at him and say well hey if he just got more shots he would be better. I could see Jabari averaging between probably 13-18 ppg on another team that he gets a consistent amount of shots per game. And he a good defender
@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk

Agree that Cam has more potential. Strength, physicality, aggressiveness, desire, etc - all greater than Jalen. As I've said before, I'm not seeing Jalen improving in many of his issues. You can thank me for Jabari's incredible jump the last month or so - because I called him a bust right before. LOL! But I should know better because bigs take longer to develop than other positions. Not all superstar guards are efficient from the field. But they will get to their average regardless that's what we need from Jalen along with good defense and ball protection. At least in regular season. Plus Jalen help to kill bad and mid lvl teams thats a big thing in the NBA win the games you should win. Any big trade will impact our chemistry for good or bad. Big risk for a team that do well currently. Don't overreact to one defeat. Jalen needs to get better at protecting the ball to take the ball out of FVV late in the 4th + Fts purposes

@@yannickb3209 I disagree. When you look at jalens efficiency he is at the bottom for his position. You said super star guards are not always efficient well they sure as hell atleast at league average jalen is way below league average. Instead of working on moves he relies more on his athletic ability to create something. His non ability to be a passer is why he is not efficient. Because when he drives all the defenders collapse on jalen to defend his shot because they know when he drives he ain't looking to pass. His decision making is very suspect and his average defense doesn't help. We are talking about trying to go far in the play offs or win a title you will do none of that if jalen is your top 3 option on offense

I understand both sides if it was me I would say trade for Fox now I actually think he would be the better fit then Booker. You can argue with the spacing but Fox is more than capable of spacing the floor and hitting 3s if he needs to and he can obviously play with Sengun and Amen. But I also understand why the rockets at least want to wait to see how this plays out especially with the Suns since it’s possible they could get bounce out of the first round. But you can’t wait another two years for Kevin Durant to slow down and Booker to ask for a trade. So yeah it’s going to be interesting to see what the rockets do but if I had to guess they aren’t going to make any moves they probably going to wait until the summer to see what happens

I would rather trade FVV as the center piece to the trade with Reed as the only core member given up with draft capital. what Fox adds to Houston's team is a player who can put pressure on the rim. he doesn't shoot 3's as well but everything else is elite IMO.

For me i would prefer Devin Booker to De’Aaron fox. Bcos Devin is 6’6 and a better shooter. Imagine a back court of 6’0 fvv & 6’3 De’Aaron fox, that would be disastrous pairing. Add the fact that De’Aaron fox can’t shoot the 3 ball to spread the floor for Alpi & Amen. I don’t even know how Fox would fits with what the rockets are doing. Bcos any PG who can’t spread the floor for sengun & Amen shouldn’t be consider by the Rockets. The Rockets should have to first consider Alpi & Amen before making any trade. Just bcos fox would be available doesn’t mean you have to go for him.
@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk
@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk 6 күн бұрын
FVV is not in the backcourt going forward. Like Ben said, it's very likely he's in the deal. If he is not, he's not the 2 guard going forward. Amen may be - or they could sign somebody. Fox shoots 48% from the field. He's much better midrange than & Jalen/FVV (who shoot 38% & 41%) & still better than both from 3. I find it comical that an All-Star PG (& the NBA's clutch player of the year last yr) is available for a team with 2 poor inefficiaent offensive guards - and Rockets fans are like "No thanks'. We're good. I'm sure all the great players in the NBA are gonna demand a trade tomorrow & beg to come to Houston
@williamdavis9562
@williamdavis9562 6 күн бұрын
@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalkall good points. The idea that Fox won’t spread the floor is insane. As if leaving open a guy who can attack the rim or shoot the middy at near 50% is ever a good option for a defense. He will create space for Amen and Sengun for sure and at the worst case scenario it will better than what Jalen and Fred do. But again it all matters on how much we have to pay and how many other teams are bidding. So many variables involved. In a perfect world I’d like to see this get kicked down to the offseason. But again too many variables. Also the idea that the Kings would accept Fred as the center piece to the deal is kinda crazy unless we oil up the tracks with more assets. Honestly do you think Fred is a guy the Kings want ? Especially if they consider selling off and rebuilding. Fred becomes meaningless to them other than an expiring contract

@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk if you move fvv, you really gonna pair Amen & Fox as your back court? Two poor 3pt shooters? Wow. Fox is a below average 3pt shooter.that’s not what the Rocket should be going for. you can’t open up a packed paint with a midrange shooter. Amen & Alpi are gonna be frustrated with a packed paint if you have Fox as ur PG. The problem with the Kings is that De’Aaron Fox & Demar are guys only efficient in midrange shots. non of them is efficient from 3pt range, that can spread the floor. That’s the main reason the kings have been so poor. They tried to addressed that problem by bringing Monks into starting 5, still it didn’t work, the best 6th man in the league no longer on their bench. The best trade for the Rockets now, is to be patient with our young guys. When Rafael stone decided to acquired all suns picks from the nets, he was playing a chess game. He knows what he’s doing. The best fits for the Rockets is Devin Booker I’m sure Stone knew that. Booker is a 3 level scorer, efficient in all 3 levels. by far he’s a better player than De’Aaron fox

Well, I'm somewhere between the two of you. I'm with Robert on being done with Jalen. I'm with Ben on waiting for the right trade. I have no proof but I suspect that the Rockets and the Suns are already talking. IMO the Rockets have all the leverage here and will get a good deal. I'm pretty sure I value stability more than you guys. I really want to see these guys develop together - I think that's really valuable. I agree with Ben that Sengun, Amen, and Jabari are the core I wouldn't touch. I'm all for making a trade at the deadline but as the third team that uses our expiring contracts to help two other teams make a big deal. Thx for the take. Shouldn't the goal be to get better? And once you're really good, those great players will want to come. You might love Houston but not everybody does - so the object should be get as much talent as possible. It's easier to have more talent when they're young & cheap like the Rockets have got. You wait 2 yrs & now you gotta pay Amen, Jabari, Tari & you're out of room for great players.

Which is more easier to do.. Asking a high volume scorer to change his game into a rip Hamilton, Reggie Miller archetype, or having Sengun be a threat from three??? Because you guys get on JG and trying to change his game but not ALP? The rockets would be much better TEAM if Sengun was more Brook Lopez less Sabonis...The TEAM plays better when Sabonis has a 12 pt game 7 assist 12 rebound game... Every time he goes and have these high point scoring games they barley win or they loose because he taking uo to many possessions scoring just 2 points... Meanwhile Ant man hitting threes

I give an objective opinion on Jalen as someone who covers & has followed the Rockets & the NBA since 1980. If you've listened for years, you know that I thought Jalen was the right choice over Mobley when the Rockets made the pick. I said during the preseason that it looked like he was turning a corner based on what I saw. You can agree or disagree about my evaluation but there's no hate or agenda. Thx for watching

@@RobertLandHoustonSportsTalk your judging him as the number 1 option and he’s a number 2 realistically.. if they did Fred reed and picks for fox hypothetically… fox green backcourt puts green in the hierarchy that he should be and his nights with 10 or 15 aren’t as impactful.. the priority to score and finish would be more on fox even though green would have his games too it’s better fit… and you always have amen to cover any matchups that are problematic for green

@@bizzyboomin9277 Jalen is a bench player right now. Maybe a 6th man. When you can only score against bad teams, are inefficient (can't shoot) & don't have any other plus skill - then you are not a #2. His FG% is the worst of his 4 yrs. He's shown no improvement in any area outside of defense. But he's not a plus defender. Still pretty much below average. Doesn't rebound, assist, block shots, get steals & is a poor help defender. He's a great athlete who can occassionally get hot - but that's it

Robert... If Jalen scored 38 and Sengun had 14 we win this game in blowout fashion... You have to ask yourself, why when Jalen scores over 30 and Sengun has average or below average game we win by larger margins, when Sengun has a game where he scores alot, we lose or we barley win... Its a reason for that... You guys get mad at Jalen because he is not who yall trying to make him to be just to play with Sengun.. He is who he is, he is not a Ray Allen archetype, he is not a Reggie Miller, Mike Miller, Rip Hamilton.. He is more closer to the Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant, High volume shooters who needs to shoot the ball 24 times a game... Sure the team will be better if Sengun had a three point specialist whi doesn't need 20 shots a game, who just need 10-12 shots and go 4-8 from three.. Yes.. Jalen is not that.. But the reverse is true also, the team can also be better efficient if Jalen Green would have a stretch big who dosent need 18+ shots a game and can also shoot 10-12 shots per game and go 4-8 from three.. The only reason Rockets are not in the Kings position and have a record like the Kings is because of the rockets defense.. The nuggets as of lately because of Murray absence is the same way.. You cant have volume shooters next to archetypes like a Sabonis, Jokic or Sengun... And you cant have high volume shooters playing with high volume post players like a Jokic, Sabonis or Sengun. The issue with Sabonis, Jokic Sengun archetypes is that they are so player dependent, there style only works DEPENDING on who the team is surrounding them by. They need a special type of 4 to play next to them to cover their defensive liabilities, and they need EFFICIENT shooters at every position.

@djmill8000 jalen has never been efficient. Tell me when he has been? Even when he was playin with kpj and they let him do whatever he still wasnt efficient. Different yr same jalen. You're not a real fan of the rockets if you believe he will ever be a consistent scorer. I hope he does because that means the team will be winning but just face the facts. The team isn't better when jalen is chucking shots. Same with fred. When they make it its nice but that's a dime a dozen each game

Both Booker & Fox are 10-20 NBA talents. There's not a massive difference. Neither is a Top 5-10 which automatically give you a 50 win floor. The Kings don't get much pub so people don't see Fox very often - but as I said on the show, Fox is Clutch. He won the NBA's Clutch Player of the Year last yr & is 2nd on the odds board this yr. Thx for the take
