I'm obviously late to the party but that's one awesome tutorial. I've wondered about making door jambs for a long time, now I'm better prepared to have a go at it. I just created a playlist for modeling tips and this video is on that playlist

Hi Darren ... I am using your hinge design on an AMT Camaro ... 3/32 inch od tube with .032 inch brass rod, its not working for me, there is too much slop and door sag when open. Questions (1) the center double barrelled rod, is that glued to the door? (2) is the brass rod I am using too thin? (3) are any of the 'rod in tube' fits glued? Appreciate your comments ... thanks in advance
@davidstout4022 жыл бұрын
Hi Darren, thanks for the very instructive videos ... I have also watched the ones where you make you hinge jig. One question please ... this door hinge design is a double swivel, different to the majority of model door hinges out there. Am I right in thinking that this arrangement gives you a more realistic door opening for muscle cars ... where the leading edge of the door slides slightly into the trailing edge of the fender?

I use an old pin-vise as a "center punch" tool as you demonstrated with the pin. Gives more leverage and more control over placement. Great Ideas BTW!
