Does anyone know if one can use legally the free 3D designs from Warehouse to the backgrounds? If I use those designs would that be plagiarism even if I give credit to the designer?

Short Answer: Yes Long Answer, most likely yes, you cannot re-sell the models on their own but you can sell them as part of other projects, so as long as you aren't selling the downloaded assets by themselves you should be all good. I do recommend you read their TOS though for specifics help.sketchup.com/en/3d-warehouse/3d-warehouse-terms-use-faq

Why "cheating"? The important is making a good job and not copying another people art. Sketchup is a drawing tool to be used. Nice vid, thanks man!

For anyone that are using this in a more current time, You can make line art of your 3d background by going to the 'default tray' and then "style" and choosing 'Photo modeling' and picking the second one. You can change the line color as well. This will save you even more time.

Hi I browsed through sketch up and saw that there are 2 free version on their website, the Sketch up Free is not for commercial use but I don't know if I can use Sketch up make from 2017 that is on their site be used for webcomic backgrounds, I've seen a lot of creators use it. And is it illegal to post it on my webtoon? Hope you reply >-<

commercial means you cant use it in paid projects, i.e you cant use it in a 60 dollar videogame, etc. you host your comics for free on webtoons so its all good! plus if you draw on top of it then youre technically not using the models directly and its extreeeeemly unlikely anything would ever happen, but i admit its kind of a gray area. But yeah unless youre working at like blizzard or some shit and you tell all your employees to use Free Sketchup on world of warcraft or whatever, then youre fine.

Depends if it has any color, if you're gonna make it black and white anyway then grayscale or black and white is fine!

Free hand or line tool! either works but i tend to find if you draw it free hand itll look closer to the other hand drawn stuff, if you just use the line tool itll look a lil too different

It is the "rough" preset in clip studio changed a little bit so i dont have to push as hard to get a thicker line! :-)

The Dark Tower Movie should have been filmed with Phil Hale's intense color palette and hard shadow's. It would have really given a more unique and fitting personality to the movie.

This is a great video! Sadly, for some reason, Sketchup has been turned into a web browser application. I'm assuming the regular one is something you have to pay for now. I really regret having uninstalled Sketchup a long time ago.

@@Pigeon_child I don't either. Luckily, it seems you can still download older versions on their site(for now) so I'm going to try the Sketchup Make Free. I really like this method of using Sketchup for comics, since I kinda suck at drawing buildings.
