This song is what I believe my heaven will be - at my grandparents home and farm, Mamaw and Mama in the kitchen, frying a load of chicken and fixings, including blackberry cobbler after we kids went out and picked a load of blackberries, sitting on the front porch with them, shelling purple hull peas until your fingers were dark purple, swimming in the Bayou and walking along the creek bed, fish fries every weekend after my grandfather went fishing, my cousins and I are playing in the yard and on the farm and later as a teen all my cousins gathering every weekend and have a big dinners and the ones that played instruments sitting down to play some old tunes. My boy cousins corrupting me by having me sneak off with them and try Jack Daniels lol. Driving down to the farm every afternoon with my grandfather with dinner scraps to feed his hoard of cats that somehow have made it to the farm and set up residence in the woods. Heading up into the hills with my mother to arrowhead hunt . These and countless other memories come flooding back when I listen to this song. I honestly believe that this will be my heaven when I get there.

Growing up, my grandpa was a Baptist preacher. So church every Sunday and my grandma, his wife's name was Betty. And you could always hear her singing over everyone else. I love this song, it reminds me of the good ol days

I wonder if my father feels this way sometimes. My oldest brother died before even taking his first breath. It was so long before I was even born. But I wonder if it still hurts like this. I still tell people I have 4 brothers. I believe my big brother watches over us from heaven. I can’t wait to meet him someday.
