Was getting tickets for this difficult? Like was there a long wait to buy or get on the boat?

We couldn’t reserve our tickets online due to sell-out, but we took the Sagano Romantic train up the mountain from Torokko Saga station Arashiyama, as last minute stand by passengers, and when we got to the boat station after a short bus ride from Saga Kameoka station, we only waited about an hour to get standby boat tickets. It seems they save extra tickets for last minute walk-ins! This was one of the funnest things we did in Japan☀️

You nailed it! The street scene would’ve been nice with a gimbal on a pole. Heading back to raincouver in 2 days to film some aliens and pay some bills, great thing about this hobby is the gear acquisition.

When I get back from a trip to Japan, I always feel kind of sad when I get my first sighting of that cute little 4 car airport shuttle they call “Skytrain”, or to quote the Dude - Oh boy, how you gonna keep ‘em down on the farm once they’ve seen Karl Hungus….

It’s called Shin kankou Maru, it looks like a paddle wheeler copying Nagasaki’s old ships from 150 years ago. For a 50 minute tour sunset cruise, the cost is 2000 Yen, only from March to November limited days(calm seas)

On the opposite side of the dock it appears to be a paddle wheel steam ? sailing vessel ? Nice day on the water...so this was the inspiration for the Lightfoot song... Japan is Amazing...please bring back some rocks/stones from Japan so we may display them until the opportunity arrises to throw them at members of Nickelback ...it has been said if one is hit in the head by a Japaneese stone you become unable to play terrible Rock Music... Happy Trails !

Yes, it was a princess auto car hoist which failed pretty quickly, I upgraded to a 22-1 gear reduction motor which has been very reliable.
