Wow! This video was a pure joy to watch and listen to. I was engaged with you slowly trying to piece together the game's hidden secrets. Duelist of The Roses was a huge part of my childhood and even in the last 10-15 years, I keep learning new stuff about the game, like it being a sequel to Forbidden Memories. It feels like both games were like an early draft of how the Yugioh Manga/Anime would play out before plans changed. I do not doubt that if the Japanese sales for DOTR were not so low, a 3rd game to complete the series would have happened to tie everything up (I do wonder if this 3rd game was what would end up becoming Flasebound Kingdom.?) Even today, people are still learning hidden secrets about both Forbidden Memories and Duelist Of The Roses and I'm sure there are more hidden secrets to both games that might be forever lost through early scarp coding or lost media.

For Axew in X and Y, you can also get it at a 5% chance in a horde encounter. With Horde Encounters, you could force them via Sweet Scent or Honey. Being able to force encounters like that, even with the lowered percentage, I feel like this method would have been a faster way to get to that Axew

Quick question, for gen 3 why are you factoring those first 3 candies seperately when the other 7 are bundled? Also, couldnt you switch the script on the debatable one by putting that as the last level and the other that took "seconds" as the second to last?

I think the type was originally supposed to be called Light type to counter act the Dark type but it was turned to fairy to avoid religious or racial controversy

If you adjust the clock on your Switch to certain days, you can invoke a certain weather in the Wild Area until that day ends. And this works even for weathers normally locked behind badge requirements (like snow or fog). Would that help speed up getting certain Pokémon for these videos, or is the den faster?

you know cover dates on magazine aren't the month that they came out in, right? english jump #1 came out in november 2002 with a cover date of january 2003. so the ad you found that "came out weeks after the game came out", was released weeks or months before the game came out. the most recent is of jump (24 2024) came out may 13th but on the front cover it says may 27th. I think you just need to check more issues.

The Real Duel Monsters series of games resemble the rules and vision of Duelist Kingdom Duel Monsters which was inspired by the Monster Collection tcg. Battle City's rules were a good programming compromise for the gameboy.

I've caught Shellder behind Nemona's house. It's exceedingly rare, and you have to rely on the Shellder even getting close enough, but You can absolutely catch it. There's a spot in the furthest back portion of her back yard. Think of if you're trying to get to the spot where you meet the bike lizard, that little cove, from Nemona's beach. The beach shrinks to a narrow strip on the East end, and if you edge to the furthest point of it, pokemon spawn in like Finizen and Shellder and Wattrel. You get access to mid game mons and mid to low lvl10s as soon as you go through the catching tutorial.
