How fast can you catch Pikachu in every Pokemon Game?

Today, Team Rocket is expanding their efforts, going across all generations to find out just how fast you can capture a Pikachu in every game!!!
If you love unique Pokémon challenges as well as uncovering facts about the games you never knew, then you are going to love my channel! I am currently working on the "How fast can you catch X in EVERY Pokémon game" series
where we track down specific pokemon, types, and other interesting groupings in the most optimal way possible.
I use a heavy amount of research and analysis in search of the answer to each episode's question, aiming to tell a fun story of the often tedious but exciting adventures I go through along the way!

So, I don't know if you were aware, but putting a Pokémon with Static in the first spot of your party increases the chance of encountering a Pokémon with Static. Catching an Electrike may have helped in Ruby. Edit: double-checking my facts has led me to realize that it doesn't work in Ruby and Sapphire, just Emerald and later.

Slight correction: you were able to skip the double battle with the twins on route 104 because double battle trainers did not have vision in ruby and sapphire. that was added in emerald.

But they wouldn't battle you regardless if you have a single Pokemon yeah? They only fight if you have two Pokemon, like all double battles with twins or couples. They even say stuff like "We won't battle you if you don't have two Pokemon" or "I won't fight you if I can't fight alongside my twin"

Something I'm curious about, for the Pikachu in Sun/Moon, since it takes considerable time to beat the first totem Pokemon, how fast would it be to capture a Pichu early on and friendship evolve it instead? Though I suppose evolving and "friendship" would go against the theme of the video. I would also have loved to see Pokemon Yellow included just as a joke. "Professor Oak just gives us a Pikachu!"

Don’t forget Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee. If he were to do that, he’d just do let’s go Eevee and get the Pikachu in Viridian Forest. Then you also have to include Legends: Arceus.

My only "problem" with this idea is that in Mystery Dungeon Pikachu can be either the player or partner character, so it would be mostly how fast can you skip the intro of every game.

This was a really interesting video, the idea is getting a bit played out, but this was memeworthy enough and with enough actual thinking and process involved that it was worth the watch. I am glad to see the skip used in S/V, I thought I was so special when I found that on my own day one, lol. Ended up having a full team of level 40s walking all over the region treating it like my own made up adventure rather than following the story, it was super fun. If a bit slow due to the immense amount of walking I did.

Small details: All Double Battles except for Liza and Tate's are optional in Ruby and Sapphire regardless of how many pokemon you have. It isn't until Emerald where they can challenge you. Also, in Black and White, you technically can "catch" Pikachu in a minigane by transferring it from Gen 4. I believe it also could've been obtained from Global Link as well before that went defunct.

X and Y, you can basically have Pikachu as your first encounter in the game it's so close to the starting town. Unless you count the guaranteed pidgey encounter in the second row of the first patch of grass in the game. A little trick, if you ever nuzlocke the game, you can get pokeballs early in the shop in starting town. It has a sign with a pokeball. If you are counting static encounters separately, I think that pidgey falls under the Claus and you can get 2 encounters in the first route in the game.

I don't know if anyone else has said this, but there is a gen five game where you can get pikachu. Similar to your eevee problem in gen 3, it's in a side game called Pokemon Conquest, one of my favorite games ever! Love your vids!

5:34 You saying that "Bite is still a special move in Gen 2" made me think about the changes that move had over the generations. It started as a Normal move, which meant it was physical in Gen 1. It became a Dark move in Gen 2, which meant it was special, which continued into Gen 3. Gen 4 finally split moves into physical and special rather than having the entire type be one or the other, so it becomes a physical move again. That's just some trivia, it's inconsequential to this run. All that aside, this is a pretty fun idea for a challenge, and I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more like this. If I might make a suggestion, Meowth or Jigglypuff might also be good options since they're also popular enough to be considered mascots.

This was fun to watch! I have an idea to make Gen 1 even faster: Use Pokemon Yellow. Though, I guess that would be a gift Pikachu, and not being technically captured by you, which is against the rules, so maybe not...

I get the challenge was to capture Pikachu, so maybe this method would be null and void, but there is a much faster method. The Odd Egg. It can hatch into a Pichu which can then be evolved into a Pikachu. Odd Egg can be obtained as early as Goldenrod at the Daycare. That said, it is not technically catching a Pikachu since 1) You receive the Egg as a gift and 2) It starts off as a Pichu in your possession.
