Followed exact measurement and steps...turned out hard puris...can u pls tell where i.may have gone wrong
@anitasguidetosimplecooking25 күн бұрын
Dear Loriza, Sorry to hear that your pooris were hard. Was the oil hot when you added the pooris. Once you add 1 poori, wait till it starts to come to the top, splash hot oil so it can puff up, flip it over and let it cook for 20 - 30 seconds before taking them out. Don't roll the pooris too thin, or else they will become hard. Also when you kneaded the dough, did you add hot water first, mixed it and then added cold water. After rolling the pooris , did the pooris get dry before frying. I never have my aircon on when making pooris or roti's in the kitchen because I don't want to dry them before cooking. Hope this was helpful. Regards Anita.

I did but it not rise
@anitasguidetosimplecooking28 күн бұрын
Dear Nanhi, Sorry to hear that your dough did not rise. There could be a few reasons why your dough did not rise. Very hot and cold temperatures can kill the yeast. Also was the milk and water that you used to make the dough lukewarm? Did you put it in a warm place to rise? These are few things that I could think of. Regards Anita.

Hi Anita, thank u for ur recipes... what if ur pumpkin does not release any water?
@anitasguidetosimplecookingАй бұрын
Dear Rani, Not all pumpkins release water. Some release more water than others and some might not release any at all. Don't worry, as long as your pumpkin curry tastes yummy. If your pumpkin is too dry, then cook it in low heat. I know that young green pumpkin does not release any water as well. Regards Anita.

Dear Anjili, Keeping it in the oil preserves it. You can either keep it in the fridge or in your pantry for months as long as you do not use a wet spoon. Hope this was helpful. Regards Anita.

Do you dunk the warm jamun in hot syrup or the other way around.. Haven't made for awile so I'm just making sure I don't make a mistake.. From SA.. our recipes are similar.. We also make them cylinder shape!.. 😊.. Thank you so much 🙏
@anitasguidetosimplecooking2 ай бұрын
Dear Lux, You are welcome. When you dunk the Jamun's in the syrup it will still be slightly warm. You do not have to warm the syrup again . If you follow the recipe as shown in my video, you will be able to make them just like mine. Once you have made the syrup, put it aside, make the gulab jamuns, fry them all and add a few at a time in the syrup, let it soak for 1 minute, take it out and repeat . There is a written recipe in the description as well. Hope this help. Regards Anita.

There has to be an easier way to make pickled lemon peel
@anitasguidetosimplecooking2 ай бұрын
Dear Judy, These steps have to be followed to make sure the pickles can last for months without going off. I made mine over 12 months ago and they are still good.
