I appreciate the honestly however I disagree when it comes to the morality of backing out. The army has been targeting low income individuals and students with debt for years by manipulating and making dishonest campaigns giving false promises, not to mention straight up lie when it comes to service and how it actually is. Personally I wouldn't encourage anyone to join but given the systems design especially when it comes to education a lot of students are forced to out of desperation. That is why I don't see it as dishonorable to not join even after signing and if you look at U.S army history being a CO is the most honorable thing you can do. Note (I am not american but I have served in my own country which fyi manufactures your most sold pistol) I do have friends that joined and served and they were never the same after. I managed to convince one not to join and he dodged a bullet, been thanking me ever since. Whatever the positives of joining are the negatives outweigh them by far, but at the end it comes down to personal choice and everyone has to make up their mind. In my opinion you got to be 100% sure with pure dedication and no need for benefits otherwise you are not gonna fit in.

Thank you for sharing and taking the time to comment this. As someone who’s never served in the U.S. Military, not a resident of the U.S. and seems like you’re sharing limited experience through your friends and what you read online or watched in videos… you’re opinion is skewed. You don’t know or witnessed the work ethic, level dedication they had when serving, mindset, skillset, realizability and their ability to be a team player. The military in my opinion doesn’t “target” low income people but let’s also keep it real. How many rich people or financially “well off” people look to join? Not very many who are willing to take a pay cut “just to serve” and not have the income to sustain their upscale lifestyle on a military salary. So it would appear to be that the U.S. military targets low income people because it makes more sense or realistic to the ability to join. The benefits are great but you just have to use them. It’s not uncommon for Soldiers to join for one thing or another and the same soldier complaining to you about why something isn’t working out is because that soldier isn’t holding up their end of the deal but have the cavity to blame others for their lack of performance. I’ve contracted nearly 300 people and many of them want to go to college or whatever else but they simply don’t apply themselves or follow through with their goals for whatever reasons. The Military has been a blessing for me and my family and I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. Among one of the best decisions and fulfilling decisions I’ve ever made. My little brother wants to be a marine he’s on the spectrum but he’s a hard worker and loves our country he’s athletic to he’s just kinda slow and act immature he’s a sophomore in high school most people don’t even know he’s autistic so he gets made fun of a lot so that’s what I’m worried about he looks normal but yeah he’s mentally still a kid so people find him annoying if they don’t know him

Not sure if you understand the program, it’s not lowering standards … it’s giving people a second chance ….. As of 2024 it is no longer a pilot program. It is a full bona fide program. Helping people successfully pass the future soldiers prep program at a 95% pass and success rate upon completion and that is for both programs. Translation, if it wasn’t for these programs, they would not be able to enter the military, no other branches are doing it. It’s Given people an opportunity to come get focus and discipline, to pass the appropriate testing while being around their fellow peers doing the same thing and an opportunity to get away from home and get focus around a structured discipline environment to-succeed. Understand that public schools have nearly taken out a high percentage of physical education programs, cafeteria are very unhealthy lots of sweets being offered instead of healthy foods. Thank heavens for the future soldiers prep program again, and a 95% success rate, allowing individuals to become service members had it not been for the program. Not Lowering standards but having a program that is provided for citizens who want to serve despite the academic and weight challenges. The classes are taught by civilian instructors.

@@markbenton5718 They’re reporting it’s a 98% success rate but an insider states it’s closer to 86% currently but still, very good results. The school system is failing our kids and this is a phenomenal program as described in the video. Not sure if you finished the video based on your update but nonetheless… Glad it’s here to stay for the next foreseeable future.

I don’t know if you remember the question I had asked about the thyroid I have but doctor can put me off of it if I need to. But I got a message from my recruiter saying it was a first him recruiting somebody on thyroid and had his higher up review my packet. Everything was fine but she had concern about my thyroid so just as you said I have to be off the medication for one year and have stable blood work. But they are looking to see if I can get the weaver and get me enlisted so hopefully 🤞 I can get into the guard.

@@maulinpatel8636 That sounds like a possible Huperthyroidism requirement but for hypothyroidism it’s this: HYPOTHYROIDISM You need current lab results (or within 6mo) for TSH, T3, and T4 to submit to MEPS. If your levels are w/in the acceptable range, you’ll be good to go! Good luck!

By that point, you should be fine because most people are going to have elevated levels due to stress in general being there. Been watching your MEPS videos, I’m trying to join the USMC currently and have already been to MEPS, passed all the tests. Except when I spoke to the National Guard, I told them I used an inhaler once as a kid, so when my skif was filled it mentioned an inhaler, I have passed my PFT test but I don’t think I passed my methacholine challenge, I’ll find out in a few days. I really want to join, there is nothing else I want to do in life. I really hope it’s wavered….i wish people with asthma could join. I’m just hoping and praying to god they waver it. Stinks cause I was never diagnosed with asthma.

What’s your advice for those prior service enlisted people looking at Army: National Guard or Air: National Guard while going to college and doing ROTC for three branch of Guard you’re doing. They have a Marine2Guard program for active duty marines thinking of going army guard when they’re close to their EAS

Army Guard goes off Army Regulations and Air Guard goes off of Air Force regulations. As far as benefits and everything else goes… they should be identical. If you’re coming from the Corps and you want the easier life, go Air and if you want something more comparable to the corps, go army. Both are part time obviously and won’t require a whole lot of commitment. Air Guard for commissioning require a technical degree and preferable in aviation or they won’t consider you. Plus, they’re highly competitive and GPA is heavily considered. Army Guard, 2.0 or greater and any 4yr degree will be suffice. Thank you for watching and stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
