Today's USA reminds me the Soviet Union, when soviets were so afraid of the truth. USA bolshevics are in the panic mode. It tells you a lot about a country which honest, professional journalists are forced to use other's country media platform to tell through truth.

I do not feel that the gentleman has much awareness of the processes in vinification and blending that extracts the flavour profiles that creates the characteristics a wine is being created for. Majority of wine is created specifically to pair in a meal whether by tradition or design. Majority of beer is made to be drunk alone (exceptions maybe in Germany and Belgium where their traditional beers pair with particular meals). As for craft brewery and brewers, the explosion has created some confusion and a loss of bearing, much like with wines after WW2. A lot is imagination, 'cleverness' and PR driven to create trends. Example, IPA. You don't know what you're going to get when you see a fancy cam that's labelled IPA. Some so front loaded with hops it's like there's an undeclared bitterness war amongst craft brewers us consumers don't know about but are the main casualties😂... English ales and bitters carbonated like lagers... 'Light Stout' when it's just a porter really. It's a bigger minefield than wine. I designed and organised a beer tasting menu for a brewery with the help of the BRI. We didn't end up using any US craft beer and relied on European traditional styles because we couldn't work out a general recommendation because of vast seemingly unrelated differences if we sourced 5 examples of a 'style'. This is not the case, say, for Belgian and German white/wheat beer paired to mussels cooked in beer... This situation is what caused the Europeans to define and classify their products. It's a big help for consumers. Also, in wine, the product is presented in such a way as to give somebody an idea of what's in the bottle. An Australian or Argentinian wine in a Bordeaux or Burgundian shaped bottle, showing the varietals, with a traditional/modern looking ticket and cork/screw cap tells a lot to the consumer of what to expect. Craft beer... A lot of beautiful labels and artwork, marketing descriptions and for sure a lot of very good beers but you're not entirely sure, unless you've had before, what you're going to get. When you don't understand what you get, you're told something like (not actual 😂): 'Its actually a New England style of the geueze.', 'Midwest English style Bitter is that carbonated'. or 'The IBU on this is literally off the scale, the best pairing is with water😂.'. The whole scene should put a compass on it. Agree on the categorisations of styles and work within those. Follow the example of the guys outside Belgium making spontaneous fermentation beers and fitting their definitions alongside the Lambics. Sorry, rant over...

You're biased because you have Italian origin, beer is better, he's an African and knows Germanics did it way better, and healthier, cooking removes the bacteria, beer is way way healthier than your shitt

I couldn't agree with Professor Jones more. I am a great fan of H. P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe and the gothic/horror genre in classical literature. When I sat down to read The Island of Doctor Moreau, I was ready to appreciate another brilliant novella by the father of science fiction. When I finished it, I was filled with horror and revulsion. I also had some sleep disturbance. This was not fun science fiction but unmitigated horror. I rated this novella a 10/10 (for comparison Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky was a 6/10, The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde was a 10/10). Another amazing quality of Wells' writing was the appropriate and correct use of the terms grafting, transplant, and plasticity and this was in 1896!

This is an excellent description of the themes of the play! Thank you! Like many former students, I've written several essays on some of Shakespeare's work, even 'starred' in some of his plays (with friends at uni)! Although I remember writing an essay for my A Levels on the comparison of women in several of the plays, I didn't really delve into the deeper meanings or nuances of his work. However, I've never lost my interest in Shakespeare and now I'm 66 (and a bit more world-weary), I appreciate his work so much more, which never fails to resonate throughout the ages. 👍🙋

Oscar Wilde was one of the great Irish Anglo writers in books and plays. Set a standard that very few ever have or can attain. The humour is relevant on 21st century as in 19th century.
