This is an excellent description of the themes of the play! Thank you! Like many former students, I've written several essays on some of Shakespeare's work, even 'starred' in some of his plays (with friends at uni)! Although I remember writing an essay for my A Levels on the comparison of women in several of the plays, I didn't really delve into the deeper meanings or nuances of his work. However, I've never lost my interest in Shakespeare and now I'm 66 (and a bit more world-weary), I appreciate his work so much more, which never fails to resonate throughout the ages. 👍🙋
