My man, you nailed it! I tried myself this style and I must say it twisted my brain when I started practice. It's a polyrythmic style and its nowhere easy :)))) Respect and salute from Romania!

Great video about the left hand(extremely helpful), do you think that there should be another video about how to apply or play the chords with the right hand? Cause it looks like the beauty of this style is related on how to play the left hand but also on how to play the right hand

What a brilliant, clear, well structured, progressive and above all, fun, way to learn how to play such uplifting music. Buy you a pint if I was ever lucky enough to meet ya...Keep this sort of thing going pal. You’re opening doors for people and letting them into a party that is hell of a lot more difficult to get into if it wasn’t for you. Absolutely brilliant way of teaching ...

My hands refuse to work separated ,eventually i will get the swing., I like boogie because I don't have to sing and offend people . Wish me luck guys.

Best lesson on KZbin and great format. Boogie Woogie is a lot of fun to try and learn. Hope you keep updating us with great content. Thanks 😝
@jonathanbenton2002Ай бұрын
There are tons of folks teaching Blues / Boogie Woogie on KZbin. Many of them are really good at playing, but very few can break things down into small enough increments that allow me to learn something new from each lesson. The only other Boogie Woogie KZbinr who teaches like you is Flint Long, and I really enjoy his simple "down-home" method of speaking and teaching. You are an accomplished pianist yet passionate about teaching simple step-by-step ways to learn the piano regardless of music genre. Thank you so much for putting so much effort into providing such great lessons. BTW - I have had to refrain from jumping from one lesson to the next without thoroughly learning the one I'm on. That's because I can't wait to see what you teach next and I love to hear you play...lol

Jay, After a year of practice I have finally made it to the bridge! My goal is Christmas in July. L:et's see if I can get there. I'll shoot a video for my big debut. I also have a special request. When you have time, can you do a tutorial for You Are My Sunshine? I love that song boogie woogie style and want that to me my second selection once I get Frosty down. Stefan Ulbricht does a wonderful version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJ-ZnqZuYtR2kMk Thank you for posting all of your videos. I wouldn't be playing if not for them. Bill

Just great to hear. But I try to play it on accordion, you have to play totally differently because of the bass to get the rhythm. The classic "Rock around the Clock" would that be possible? Thank you from Mauritius Heino
@darrylheinzig6457Ай бұрын
Why do all you instructors always teach nothing but the left hand patterns when it comes to boogie woogie. Dr K, you, Henry.......all of you just left hand. Boring. Have mastered the left hand. Would love to learn right hand licks and progression but all you ever find on you tube is the same old left hand boogie tutorials
@darrylheinzig6457Ай бұрын
All you ever teach is left hand patterns. Would really love to learn some right hand licks and hammer one. You boogie woogie instructors seem to focus on nothing but the left hand to which I have mastered. Right hand improvisation would be nice
