Best boggie style and teachings out there. I played piano here and there but never did boggie style and you have inspired me to practice and learn. And I love your style and sound quality better than anything I heard out there. And your teaching is very accommodating to the viewers. Well done and thank you for being you. Your passion shines and shows through your videos. Subscribe and like all!😊

Great video!! I’m a guitarist, but have always “tinkered” around on the keys and am a terribly awful “pianist”, IF that word could even be applied to me, which it can’t! Lol. I just enjoy playing around on piano, always have. But for 40 years I’ve been a guitarist. Anyhow, I LIVE listening to a piano player do their thing. I always have. So I really enjoy listening to your remarkable playing ability. I’m a new subscriber and have listened through all of your videos. I really wanted to comment for two reasons. First and foremost, to thank you for sharing your talents and abilities with us. Even though I don’t watch for piano lessons, I greatly enjoy seeing how you break it down and teach it, and of course then I love to hear you play it! My second reason for watching your videos is that a long time ago, having played in gigging bands since the 80’s, until fairly recently, (and honestly, I’d like to get back out there gigging with some other old farts 😂) but I learned a long time ago, I could learn more as a guitarist by hanging out with good pianists, than just about any other form of training/lessons. I’ve learned so much over the years to apply to guitar, by watching keyboardists play. And one thing even a bit more special is that you do a lot of boogie woogie, which is one of my favorites also on guitar! What I use most, and take from your instruction, is your right hand phrasing. I use a lot of it to write chord melodies, but also just to see the different chords and voicing you use (right hand) which are very useful to guitarists. Especially those playing jazz, swing, and other styles like big band era and such, all of which I play frequently. I noticed in this video, you didn’t make a note of the right hand chords you were playing, which I REALLY appreciate when you do note them above. Some of the music shown here had chords written out on it. But I prefer when you’ve written them above the right hand so we no keyboardists can quickly see what chords and progression your right hand is playing. (Without having to stop the video, figuring out with keys are being played on each finger etc.. Anyhow, that’s about it. I hope you happen to read this, and know I really appreciate you sharing these videos. And if you’re ever wondering if you should make notations of the right hand chords being played, you know one old guy is here that appreciates it!! Lol. Thanks again. ..John. 🎸

Wonderful lesson, Jay. You are some player and teacher. Wish I could get to this one but I'm still back on Frosty trying to get my left hand to groove. It is so tough. Too many years of typing I guess. But I'm going bar by bar as you suggested and the first bar is almost there. Baby steps, right? Bill

One thing I’m curious of, if you were playing along with my group, guitar, drummer and stand up double bass, what would you play differently? Seeing how your left hand would be freed up, because Bill would be slapping that out on his double bass. Just curious what you feel inclined to play in that situation. Or, would you just play the right hand by itself, the same as shown here? Thanks Jay! 👍👍👍

Thanks for your comment... the walking bass line shown here is mainly for solo piano... if playing with a bass guitarist then the left hand would play a rhythm style pattern (as the walking bass line would clash)..👍🎹😎
