I love the pomegranate. When travelling throughout Egypt many years ago, I lived on glasses of the fresh juice that was squeezed in front of you, for pennies. So delicious, healthy and revitalising.

Too much work in the beginning. Just cut in half and start with the spoon spanking with each half. 😉

That "wooden spoon" technique is absurd!!! Don't listen to that!! She's correct that you cut off the top and cut with the lines. But she's lying to you all about the rest of the procedure. Nooshi Jon, my ass.

As an Persian, you're lying. It takes at least 10 minutes to get all the anare out. Why lie??? Your technique is clearly not going to get all the berries out within 1 minute.

I tried this on two pomegranates. The seeds did not come off easily with the wooden spoon, so many in the in between layers got crushed. I ended up using my fingers to dislodge them.

Me too. I wonder if it depends on what type of pomegranate you get. I bought mine from Costco and this hack doesn’t work very well at all. Costco pomegranate are huge like they are on steroids. I think with the organic or normal sized maybe this works better.
