I agree! He is not a savior! We need to keep doing. We do not want the gov to get involved in farms or homesteads or homeschooling. Free money comes with ties.

If you don't have good compost yet, is there something else that you can intially inoculate with?

Look I'm not going to say that dowsing or witching for water doesn't necessarily work. I have seen very little evidence that it works at all including one time we were looking for a well that had already been dug and installed but the wellhead had been buried under about 6 ft of dirt and the guy couldn't find it..... What I will say is if you dig deep enough anywhere in North America, you will hit water if you're in the Eastern United States, it's definitely not difficult if you're in the Western United States. There is a little bit more luck involved in hoping that you get enough water to have a productive well, but if you dig deep enough, you will hit water

Is there a reason you switched from a siphon valve to a check valve? Could you have just stayed with the siphon valve? Then you could drain the well for winter or am I missing something?

When considering using an LGD, the complexity of owning more than one dog is a question. We have a border collie and a golden doodle, who are also outdoor dogs. They do not harm our chickens or alpacas. Can a young LGD include these dogs in its guardian role and still protect against outside strays and coyotes? I do know my dogs distinguish family cats from feral cats (the latter whom they will chase).

I've never raised pigs - sorry to sound ignorant - I remember fresh pig manure burns plants. Do you have to wait a bit before tilling and planting, or do you just go ahead as soon as you can and it works anyway without burning the seedlings? Not to mention, live manure can contain parasites I am asking bc I genuinely want to know and I do not mean to sound argumentative AT ALL

Teamwork amongst family, friends, and neighbors is very important. At some point significant portions of our society got away from helping each other out. There are times that things go wrong and worse yet when disaster strikes that it is important to be there for others or for others to be there for you depending on the situation. As far as the new truck goes- hopefully it’s a quick fix but it definitely sounds like a good purchase. I can’t imagine not having a truck around to take care of a multitude of tasks. I have tools and other equipment stashed all over the place in my truck.

Excellent video, thank you. We are new homesteaders looking to add a 4 year old GP to our property. We have a fenced sheep and goat pasture and just lost 5 goats to we think a coyote. Our goat pasture is very overgrown woody (goats are there to help clear the land). Will a GP venture into a raw pasture like that or do they prefer more open, grazing spaces (where our sheep live)? Hoping the GP will patrol the entire property.

This video has been so helpful to us on how to create our PMA! Thank you!!! An interesting term; instead of using the word "understand", it's best to say "overstand". That creates superior knowledge, not servitude. We want to start owning cows, already raise our own chickens and eggs organically, and grow veggies organically. Our goal is to help others purchase automobiles and property with our private bank and PMA. No one will be denied their purchase! It will take a month or two to get this up and running, so stay tuned!

I have friends that run a medical mission in Guatemala. They have a couple of airplanes and they built their own runway so that they can land. The runway happens to be next to part of their farming operation and when they land or before takeoff, one of the family members goes out on a dirt bike and makes sure that there are no animals on the runway. It’s an amazing operation out there because they started with next to nothing and now they have all kinds of different things going on along with a family that continues to grow.

Question for you, I am adding a livestock guardian to my farm and plan for them to sleep outside with the animals in the barn. How did the puppy adjust to that? I get a lot of grief from others who dont beleive in having outdoor farm dogs.
