I want to replace my carpet, but I do not know how to remove the seat, do you have a video on that?
@DickShaw2 сағат бұрын
I did not make a video on that but look along the bottom outer edges of the seat and you will find the frame. At the front and towards the rear you will find where it is bolted to the floor. remove those bolts and the seat should lift up to where you can remove any wire connections for electric seat motors. The seat will then lift out of the car. Good luck with your project and I hope this helps.

Really good video. You did a very nice paint job. Looks like a pro did it. Did you clear coat after you color sanded?

No clear coat. Just acrylic urethane as it came from the factory. Thanks for watching.

Just came across your video. Great job! Really good info, no needless rambling, good camera work, and I didn’t hear you say “guys” one time. I have a KZbin channel too and I’ve lost video. It’s weird. I wonder where it disappears too. 🤷♂️ Great job bud!

Very cool. I wonder, could this method be used to connect a mismatched transfer case and front differential? Remove one of the yokes and replace it with the correct yoke to fit the mismatched part?
@DickShaw10 күн бұрын
Yes, it sure could as long as the yoke flange and driveshaft tube are the same diameter.

Do you happen to have bearing races and spacer part numbers?
@DickShaw13 күн бұрын
Hello, Thanks for watching. I am attaching two links to the parts you need. These parts are available from other sources as well, so you might want to search for Corvette parts and compare prices. Even Rock Auto has the bearings and races. www.corvettecentral.com/c2-63-67/suspension/63-82-rear-wheel-bearing-shims-and-spacers-kit-582021?returnurl=%2fc2-63-67%2fsuspension%2f%3fcount%3d180 www.corvettecentral.com/c2-63-67/suspension/63-82-rear-wheel-bearing-set-582018?returnurl=%2fc2-63-67%2fsuspension%2f%3fcount%3d198

I have a question nobody could answer me yet. My 56 hard top rattles and squeaks all the time and it is so annoying. Is this common on all early birds while driving with the hardtop on an can i do anything about it? Greetings from Germany, goldenrod yellow '55
@DickShaw17 күн бұрын
Well, it is hard to tell from here. But the squeaking is most likely coming from the rubber seals rubbing on the body/ windshield frame, etc.. You could try wiping them with some talcum/baby powder and see if that helps. As far as rattles go, just make sure it is securely attached. Adjust it so it locks in place very firmly. Thats my two cents. I hope you get it figured out because I agree it can be quite annoying.

Great job! Is your vet flared all the way around or just in the back?
@DickShaw24 күн бұрын
Well, it was flared in the back only, but I have returned it to stock now.
@vstags24 күн бұрын
@ 10-4. I remember watching one of your vid’s addressing the fenders, but couldn’t remember if you were flaring them or returning them back to stock. I’ve got Mid Year Mitch building me a 65 roadster on a roadster shop spec seven chassis. I’m trying to figure out engine options that will provide the safe horsepower and value. Please let me know if you have any recommendations love your videos thanks.
@DickShaw23 күн бұрын
@@vstags Since you are using a roadster shop chassis, it tells me that keeping it stock is not a concern. I have a LS1 from a 98 Corvette in mine and I think it is going to be great. The LS3 though is a better option and there are plenty of them around so the cost will be reasonable. The chassis you are getting could probably be ordered with the mounts for it already installed. I think the LS3 is 430 horsepower so that is more than enough for a street machine.

Great video as ever! I'll do this in a few months, so thanks for the guide! At the beginning of your video, you can see the underfloor storage compartment where the jack normally gets stored - and yours is all black, did you paint it black (if so, what did you use?)? That area in my C2 looks like raw fibreglass 😐
@DickShawАй бұрын
Yes I painted it black and then lined it with a durable material that was about 1/8" thick to help with noise control, just glued it in. Thanks for watching and good luck with yours.
