I lived in the bay area...worked downtown sf a real democrat plaintation. The roadrunner is my favorite muscle car. I have a friend...he used to own a 69 roadrunner...383 dual quads hemi 4sp ran 13.6. I was in this car interstate 280 south bound after San Bruno incline...150mph...smooth....

I know I'm late to this party. I've had several old Mopars. All 383 4 727 s and now I drive a 66 383 727 Charger. 90 % original. Sometimes I start her just to hear her rumble. My neighbors even like it, lol

OMG. Just like MY green '68 RR 383. Except for the black accent on the hood & the GTX wheels, looks... & sounds... exactly the same. I bought it a month after I graduated H.S. in July '70 and sold it when I got drafted in Sept '71. I LOVED that car, and so did the ladies:) Wish I still had 'it'. Wish I still had that RR, too... 🤣

Beautiful car but if I had to nit pick I would say lose the square exhaust tips - those are Dodge tips! Mancini Racing has the correct oval tips for the Plymouth B-Body. Other than that I love this car!

One of my best friend's mother bought him one while we were still in late '69 or early 1970. He convinced his naive mother that it was just a Belvedere with a few "dress up" items! Needless to say, she knew NOTHING about cars It was a factory 383 with a bench seat and stick shift. From the curb, it looked innocent enough and was factory bone stock. The factory h.p. had been seriously underrated(for insurance purposes, we now know) at 330 if my memory serves me correctly. For a full sized car, that thing turned out some serious acceleration/performance! We took my dad for a "spin" and he got the shit scared out of him when we got to a stretch of open road and he "aired it out". Oh, those were the days.
@jimstrict-9982 жыл бұрын
330 was the gross rating for the regular 4-barrel 383. The Road Runner was given a "335" gross rating.
