The VisionLine Class A also has the exact same issue as the Big Boy with the front speaker being disappointingly weak. Real shame. I've thought about replacing the speaker with a different speaker altogether. Weirdly enough, both the VisionLine Class A and VisionLine Big Boy are the only Vision steamers that have this sound issue. The 2-10-10-2, which released just before the Class A, did not have this issue, nor any Vision locomotive before that. The sound issue has only happened to the Class A and new Big Boy. I can only hope this issue will not happen with the upcoming Vision Triplex.

The sad part is how wrong they got the boiler color. Russia Iron should have a blueish tint that's just a plane gray

Lionel did state when these were announced that a lot of colors would be different from what everyone was used to, due to new developments with the historian they were working with. I’m sure by now that same historian has changed their mind 😉

@@WichitaToyTrainClub This isn't something hard to figure out though. Every locomotive at the time had Russian Iron, we have examples of Russian iron left today. What they put on those engines looks nothing like it.

LC + has just evolved into LC+2.0 They have typically only done Two to Four LC+2.0 locomotives per catalog

Wow guys... I'm speechless (disappointed). I opened my first Big Boy and my 2-10-10-2 (for the first time) a couple weeks ago and noticed the same thing: the Big Boy's whistle is much less robust with the 2-10-10-2 blowing it away. Being my first Big Boy I thought it was just that way. I don't know why they compromised the sound. I prefer the newer offerings with better dialogue and LOVE the pop-off effect but very disappointed with the sound. Too bad Lionel. I'll be watching closely for any information you have in rectifying the weak whistle. Great video Thanks

They are beautiful models and they run great. That front sound system just lacks, I’ve tried a baffle it helped but in no way is a fix. I’d recommend anyone that feels this way to just shoot Lionel a nice email just saying this product has severely under delivered

Nice video and review of American Flyer Nickel Plate Road #765. I also liked the #759 running with it. Can you tell me what the dispatcher is saying at 17:20 and what it means? I can not seem to make it out. Thank you for sharing.
