When all this happened was just a couple of years after I began using Ravelry, so I remember it well - but I didn’t use the forums much. Free speech should be allowed, as long as it’s not literally saying to do criminal acts - BUT, like all other companies, like restaurants, stores, & social media companies, they are private (not govt) and can deny anyone access, even if it’s for their opinion, etc. A crafting community should be about people first, not how they identify themselves with limited social identities, and be inclusive of all - but, then again, it’s a private company. If I owned a company like that, I’d want everyone to feel welcome and heard as long as they were able to express themselves without fighting, and discuss things effectively, but I also support the fact that that’s a choice of the owner - maybe some people care more about their own beliefs than they do about being a good example for others, and care more about their beliefs than making money and having more customers - there are people like that, and that’s okay, we can’t control them, only ourselves. Most importantly, we can choose to not use their place of business - that’s the right I care most about. Thank You for this video. 💕

It seems a huge problem on Ravelry is the Community Guidelines that discriminate against a huge portion of US citizens. I think discrimination against a large portion of people is bad, no matter who is being discriminated against (other than predators, murderers, etc.). I was unaware of the discriminatory Community Guidelines until now. I am thankful I am not a pattern-maker, nor do I engage in the forums or other community areas. I just want to be able to find patterns to try as I learn to knit. Ravelry seemed like a great option. I wish the hatred for people who don't follow an ideology disappears. Generally, these kinds of cultures or religions are considered cults.

"Dropping the needle" is not the traditional English knitting method. Learners do this when they don't yet have the coordination to knit properly. Every stitch is made by simply moving the index finger, with the right needle constantly supported between thumb and forefinger, or sometimes a knitting belt.

While watching the needle comparison video I saw the blue cable socks (@ 3.36 mintues). Can you tell me what the pattern is? I love them. I found your video helpful. My first pair of socks I used 2 circular. I didn't like that method. I moved on to dbl points, magic loop and flexi flips. I was going to try the 9 inch circular but decided against it. I'm going to try two at a time next on magic loop.

Hi Thanks Thanks for the good explanation I am think to make a crochet blanket with cats design but I don't want to spend to much money on it. What kind of wool washable or in the last a good acrylic for it. Of course I prefer natural fibres Thanks again Adel Maria

This is a bit off topic, but I’m a little sensitive to the feel of wool against my skin. Everyone is different of course. Is there any way to figure out if a yarn purchased online is really going to be soft against the skin?

I hate Donald Trump, but I am also a big believer that "a house divided against itself cannot stand" I don't want to dominate people with opinions other than mine any more than I want to be dominated by them. I also think if women would unite instead of trying to destroy each other, we would not be fighting to have our rights to healthcare restored.

When I knit continental style with two colors I flick with both left and right hand. it saves time, it's fun because you need to engage "both sides of the brain" at the same time :)

I recommend getting an old paper cutter. I was never pleased until I bought $3 vintage one. My husband loved it too so we had to get a second for his shop.

Ravelry is a private business. If you don't like them, don't use them. It is about fiber crafts.

Those are really cool. My son has EDS (Elyers Danlos Syndrome, it’s a connective tissue disorder) so knitting is painful for his wrists (and why I got him the electric spinning wheel because his knees and ankles are effected). I taught him to knit when he was younger and he really enjoyed it, but he got to the point it was just to painful, so he bought a sock machine like that and cranks socks out all the time. He can figure out all the mechanical stuff like you, lol he didn’t get that from me ;p.

That's so cool that it can be a way to make knitting more accessible. And nice to have a shared interest with him :)

I don’t have an electric wheel, maybe someday, but I have a nice Kromski Polonaise that spins nicely, so I can’t complain.

Hi, I love the yarn! I'm always on the lookout for yarn to use in planned pooling crochet projects. Do you know if your yarn can be pooled?
@KendraMakes4 ай бұрын
It depends the type of project you are making! Each section of colour is around 80-100 inches but then you don’t usually have that colour again until the pattern repeats, sometimes several yards later. Some colours (like the grey in this colour) repeat in the sequence so may pool better. I don’t crochet with sock yarn much though, so I’m not too sure!

Do you think it would work good on a loom?
@KendraMakes4 ай бұрын
Depends on the type of loom! This is sock weight and could definitely work on a weaving loom but would have pretty loose stitches on a hat loom
@Rowan_Waters4 ай бұрын
@@KendraMakes I currently am working with a bigger loom. I was say 52", could be way off. And weaving with 100g of Acrylic yarn I got from a thrift store. (I found a couple on your site that I have my heart set on!! Cant wait til paid day!!)
