What kind of doctor are you?

I asked for more specific info to prepare for my demo and the only info I got was high school and I asked what topic to address in English Grammar and I got told "just a simple demo." I don't have 8 weeks. I only got 4 days to prepare.

I found my GIF on Giphy, brought it to Canva, matched the background, did all the layout on Canva BUT the gif (somehow not working well), brought everything together in PowerPoint and now exporting at the best resolution thanks to the tips. Thanks!

Just a helpful reminder. The tips and tricks for dealing with procrastination are excellent for neurotypicals but not so much for the neuro-divergent folk. If you are neuro-divergent and need advice on this or related topics I would seek out KZbin channels specifically focused on or devoted to the neuro-divergent population.

How do you add a font to a PowerPoint Template? I want to use a font that isn't showing in the Master Slide dropdown menu, but is showing in the general Fonts menu. There isn't an option for customization in the Master Slide that I can find.

As for prezi: even though I really like the zooming in and out of prezis, I totally hated the tool from the very first prezi I saw. I can‘t even tell why - but I never saw an actually „good“ prezi though I kept looking out for good ones. There was a time when I thought: All the other fools are only stupid and can’t use the tool correctly - but I failed as badly as they did. The zoom effect actually has potential for showing hidden details placed where they belong but - as I said… none of the prezis I saw did that in an attractive meaningful way.

Awww… sorry to hear (and glad, in a way because it simply IS what I use) there‘s nothing better than PowerPoint. Recently, for visualization purposes for my weaker students, I tried to do an animation to show what an average is. It was supposed to show a bar chart, then draw a line at the value of the average of the 5 bars, then cut off what‘s above the average and distribute it in the gaps below the average line. (Was that description too confusing to illustrate what I tried?). PowerPoint failed so horribly in this task (or I did - I dunno!) that I‘m looking for an alternative for simple math visualizations since then. Whenever you try to move an object, there‘s no way to tell where exactly the object will be placed at the end of your animation path. I couldn‘t tell if I had to end the animation arrow at the middle of the object, at the upper or the bottom end. Whatever I tried placed the object in an „off“ position at the end. Is there anybody out there who can recommend a graph tool for making such illustrations with a bit of movement - and without huge efforts?

I have learned to do everything you say, but my problem with PowerPoint is that Microsoft has completely removed the ability to add macros. I don’t understand their thinking here. What idiot would remove a capability that many users love? I want an alternative because I’m angry with Microsoft for being so insensitive to their users.

This is TOO LONG! What is the real advice!

It creates a looping gif file. There is still no option of no loop. You have to use some other website or software like photoshop to stop it from looping.

I was very intimidated by the Zoom feature of Power Point...until now. I was spending hours creating a clickable table of contents for my presentations creating buttons and using hyperlinks. Now, I can create one in minutes, even seconds! Thank you for sharing.

Canva still lacks vector design tools which even the MS apps boast.

My version of Powerpoint doesn't have a "draw" tab. An "ink" tab appears when I pickup my pen.

When my school asked me to be TA after my undergrad and also after my masters, no one asked me of teaching demo.😂😂. They just said, you wanna be TA for this course...I said yes and that was it. I hadn't held a tutorial class before...and nobody cared. I guess the demand for TAs exceeded supply.😂. There are now 100 applications for a faculty role...so you need a demo lesson to get the job.:)

I've used PowerPoint and Keynote for years. Keynote is the better option, in my opinion.
