Thank you Luke. I’ve caught the Crab Nebula ever so slightly on my canon with a lens I got from my dad and it inspired me to look into getting a telescope. Found your video and thought it was really great and super helpful on what I’ll need to look for in terms of attachment. Great video❤

Why is no one talking about magnification? How does that compare, for example, to 25mm and 10mm oculars? Is it possible to connect the camera with an adapter to the eyepiece? This would make it possible to obtain several different magnifications with old oculars.

Did you find there was any degradation/loss of optical quality using the adapter with a glass element? I saw on a different review there was a significant loss in IQ. Maybe it was just his specific lens/adapter? Thanks
@LukeofAllTrades.Ай бұрын
I'm sure there was some loss in quality, but it didn't seem real significant to me. Everyone has a different definition of what is significant. I'm sure there are higher quality versions, but I wouldn't count on something being better just because it's more expensive. The section at the end of the video with the sample footage hopefully gives you an idea of the quality, it seems good enough to me!

Very interesting and informative video...........a question or two if I may. I have an older Meade 6" reflector, and have found the adapters your mention, including the Barlow, but not sure if that will give me good images of the planets. Do you know if there is also an adapter that will work with your set-up that allows the use of the telescope eyepieces that came with the scope? Or will the adapter with the Barlow provide sufficient magnification for imaging Jupiter and Saturn.? Did you find that you got good images of nebulas with this setup? Thanks for your information.

you can buy a filter that go over this hole

Is it ok to buy it for a cheaper price.
@LukeofAllTrades.2 ай бұрын
Absolutely! The barlow lens is the only piece that could really have a difference based on the quality and price, the rest of the components are just adapters that should be fine as long as they meet the right physical specifications. A cheap T-ring is probably as good as an expensive T-ring!

Greetings from Poland. Thank you for your videos. I did what you said and I only saw a blurr. But when I also put (with some effort) a telescope lens into this system then it worked though not perfectly. Could you comment please?
@LukeofAllTrades.2 ай бұрын
What telescope were you using? There is some variability in how well it will work based on the focal length of the telescope, so adding a barlow lens may help in some cases. It's a lot of experimentation to figure out the best setup for your telescope, I'm glad you're making progress!
@marekm96472 ай бұрын
@@LukeofAllTrades. Thanks. Dobson 150/750. I have a Barlow. Because adding lense helped I figure I need to put the camera farther away. I thought it was just a simple thing - put the camera with the adaptor and it would work. I will experiment but perhaps you could give some tip for this type of telescope? And the camera is NIkon D 5200 (crop matrix).

@LukeofAllTrades.3 ай бұрын
I still respond to every comment I can! I'm not popular enough to have many comments, so I see them all! It sounds like you're doing it right. You definitely want to put it over the end of the telescope, not over the eyepiece. One way to check it is to look through the solar filter at the sun, without using the telescope at all. You should be able to see it as about the size of the moon.

The park is beautiful, but I heard that they had a sloth that died while in their care. I also learned that a monkey was beaten by other monkeys, so they had to put him in a cage. I’m guessing it might have happened because they didn’t socialize him properly with the rest of the troop.
