Ovation (and Quantum) of the Seas - the North Star experience in Alaska!

We just went on quantum of the sea to Alaska only to find out that the north star attraction had been broken for a year. We were never told when we booked the reservations that wasn’t working. One of the main attractions and they sold us the package telling us. It was working only to find out it doesn’t.? After complaining to customer service they did not care. Make sure that the attractions are working and especially the Northstar..

I had no idea! That definitely seems like something they should mention in several places! I certainly went on the cruise expecting to be able to go on the North Star (if I could secure a free spot), so making it clear that it would never be open is crucial! Thank you for sharing, hopefully people see this and eventually someone responds when it reopens!

Just watched the entire video. So, how do you ride it for free? I don’t believe you told us. Are you trying to say you can go on it for free when the ship is in port? Going on Odyssey of the Seas in late January. Thanks for your time.

Yes, that's exactly it! And those spots don't open up very far in advance, so if you check the app the week before your cruise, it'll look like the only way to do it is to pay. Good luck!

Every time I see this, I can't help but my mind going back to the proposed hot air balloon tethered to the Oasis class ships. I think during sea trials the cable snapped and it flew away. That's definitely a piece of history that needs to be remembered! If for no other reason to not count on any idea lasting forever, or even past the initial stages!
