This looks like a common outdoor carnival like rides with rollercoasters for teens and tweens. This has been like a decade in the making and there’s no more information now than there was then. If there’s adequate indoor dark rides and animatronics for families to come they need to advertise them. An upscale carnival is not going to fill their resorts with theme park enthusiasts.

Hi, my husband and I have lived in Chelem since October... Can you recommend some cool areas to go to this coming week, we wanted to go to the Plaza Altabrisa which we've never been yet, and hopefully find some cool bar/ restaurants & cute shops around or not far from that area. We just want casual restaurant/bar with good vibes for fish tacos & drinks. Thank you!!
@mtchllknxКүн бұрын
Heyy Kat! This weekend? I don't know of anything specific, but the beautifully laid streets of Calle 60, 47, and Paseo de Montejo will connect you with so much. And it's all walkable. Altabrisa is nice for the mall and big stores, but it'll be a bit harder to find cute shops/bars. I'd also recommend the MidCity Insider card for deals and a map. Loootsss of restaurants and shops in Merida and some in Progreso, too!

Nice to see the Cirque influence! The Chavis family has utilized the best of the best! There are Gary Goddard ‘Big Idea’ Design elements! Disney’s concept of their skyway ride and the Ferris Wheel from California Adventure. The Dante company does amazing landscaping! VIDANTA had the resources to travel globally throughout the World of Themed Entertainment and they have resourced the best of park designers. I look forward to experiencing this environment!

I have been to this market. You really have to be aware that you can bargain with the people that show you the merchandise (bargaining is part of the culture). They will ask for way more than they will accept. Look at reviews and many ratings for this place on TripAdvisor if you really want an idea of how things work at this store according to the customers. I liked the place, you feel obligated to tip the fellow for showing you around (since they say they don’t get paid) but for the knowledge I was ok with it. Really nice stuff but never pay full price because you can find good prices all around Merida and bargain with other shop keepers as well. Know what the money is worth in México compared to your home country. Do not use a credit card,..referring to TripAdvisor experiences of customers that I cannot validate. Some stores do not have pricing on sale items so if you don’t like bargaining find stores with pricing on items. If you like something in particular ask about the prices in different locations to get a rough idea of what’s a deal and what’s just crazy.

We are heading to Nuevo Vallarta - I saw you stayed in Grand Mayan. We are trying to determine grand mayan or grand luxxe - how did you feel about the pool, bar and restaurant access? Did you feel limited? Did you wish you were able to access other parts of the resort not included in Grand Mayan?
@mtchllknx2 ай бұрын
Grand Mayan is much more of a family-friendly vibe, and felt much closer to most things, while Luxxe felt more romantic and definitely a level up. Not sure what kind of vibe you're looking for. And an FYI- the best Luxxe buildings are reserved for very high-level members, so unless you're well connected, I'd expect riding a shuttle to most things, especially the beach.
@kaylamaurer70142 ай бұрын
It is a couples trip, but we want to be sure the pool and bar access is worth while on the upgrade. Or if we should opt to stay at grand Mayan for less and still get an enjoyable experience. Obviously a huge difference in room, but we didn’t want to regret an enjoyable experience with more limited pool and bar access
@mtchllknx2 ай бұрын
@@kaylamaurer7014 if you have the means, Luxxe may be better for your couples trip. The pools are much more chill, and if you just keep in mind that you'll probably be shuttling places, you'll be good.

Hello, I have yet to visit Vidanta Cabo. I recently saw in someone's video that they are working hard at constructing a Grand LUXXE level and Estates level in East Cape, a property next to the one they already own. I hope to visit soon to see for myself what is going on and how the new addition is going. Vidanta is always on the move, creating something bigger and better for its VIP members.

@mtchllknx7 ай бұрын
When we were there in April, the price was $900 pesos for entrance. Might be increasing as more of the park opens. And at this point, I would guess that they are open more than just Tuesdays from 5-10pm, but could be wrong. It was a slow opening for safety and employment reasons, so hopefully everything is still progressing smoothly .

We did the presentation, but that is not the reason we got ocean view, at least not that I'm aware of. There can definitely be pressure in the presentations, but if you go in with the right mindset, and aren't afraid of saying no, the rewards can definitely be worth it. Ask them what you'll get in return for attending the presentation. We once got $350 + the free breakfast buffet + the privilege card with deals all over the resort.
