Your amazing, my little girl was born 29+6 and come home on oxygen. She was born weighing 2lb 7oz and is now 5 and is thriving. I had a little boy 17months ago, who was born at 9lb. Look after your self x x x

I was 29 and a few days, it was such an out of body experience, you just get thrown into motherhood so quickly it’s scary and I still get teary now when I tell anyone or see videos of her 5 years on 🤍 how amazing are these tiny blessings

Emily see if Chelsea has a listening clinic where you see a specialist mw that can have a debrief with you and really go through everything again even if all the docs nurses etc have spoken and explained things she is there to actually listen and go through everything again single detail even the thoughts of up/down like you said you are experiencing. ❤

Gosh this bought me back to my 2 nico babies, it’s an out of body experience for sure and you can’t even compress the world that’s still turning outside those doors but well done mama and Eva you done it! Mine are now 2 and 6 and thriving two little boys and they defo took longer mine were 9lb babies and just two lazy big boys ❤️ I’m so glad your both home it’s the best feeling ever finally getting them back after so much hurt

Congratulations 🎉. My birth was horrendous and I’d never doing it again myself and baby nearly died. I was having all the contractions as being 10cm dilated but my cervix were close. We were prepped for a c section however the nurses on days refused the c section forcing me to deliver naturally and then it all went wrong. The delivery and the way they treated me I wouldn’t wish that on anyone, I was so traumatised that I’ll never go into a hospital again, currently we are investigating and raised a safe guarding .

As a fellow NICU/SCBU mama thank you for sharing your story and raising awareness of having a premmie/preterm. that walk out of hospital without your baby is life changing. But the joy they bring is phenomenal my boy is 18 months now and just hitting the growth charts but the happiest little fella! All the best to you Eva and family xxxx

I had a prem baby 8 weeks early just over a year ago. Was in nicu for a month. It's such a crazy experience and I totally agree coming home and newborn life was so easy and amazing in comparison. I used to tell people I didn't know like in baby classes corrected age so they weren't like why is she 8 months and not sitting and telling everyone the she was prem became a bit triggering .. so I just gave her a fake bday of her due date 😂 ofc to people i knew and who I kept seeing they were aware of the truth. Having a first child is stressful at term but with our nicu princesses its a whole added layer of when will they walk talk crawl etc.. my girl has been delayed slightly but always got there by her corrected age so my advice would be be patient and don't stress. They will get there... I've had sleepless nights thinking is she OK will she ever crawl but then at 12 months (10 months corrected) she did and that was fine! But seeing all these other 6 m olds crawling ure like is she ok! But someone told me comparison is the theif of joy and that really hit home so just enjoy every minute and we have to be grateful for the extra months we got with our angels!

You are so brave sharing your birth story, so pleased she is ok! I was the same as you, not pre term but had a planned c section and had a very quick surprise delivery and a vaginal birth which I hadn't done any training for, my baby girl came early on the 10th of Jan. Sending lots of love to you and your baby girl, sounds like she has the best parents already!

My daughter works nights in NICU, they really are the best, 12 1/2 hour shifts, many of them are close to minimum wage, and they absolutely give it their all. I’m in awe of the nurses!

Oh Emily.. my first labour/ birth was traumatic and you reminded me so much of myself - it’s visible to see/ feel your emotions and experiences. Please get some therapy to help you process this labour because it will help you. Yes focus on what you got- your healthy baby girl and I know you’ll be an amazing mum! You look amazing too. Enjoy the new baby bubble. ❤

You’ve just come up on my suggested videos, firstly congratulations! Secondly, I had the same thing with my twins, it started as back ache, like you I had no idea what it meant and didn’t even know it was related to labour! I ended up having an emergency c section due to it being twins, not as early as you, I was 34 weeks. What I think is weird, I had flu too and they suspected that’s why I went into early labour! Your story has reassured me a lot because I’ve felt pretty useless for not being able to go full term, so thank you for sharing! X

Congratulations to you all! You made it through quite a journey! I also had my boy early and he was taken to another hosiptal as there was no room in the NICU were i gave birth so had the first 3 days without my baby! .. I couldn't understand you more, the pain of watching other mothers leave with their babies and you leaving the hospital empty handed... Took me two years after that experience to fully absorb the trauma of everything! sending lots of love and understanding to you! Xx

Firstly biggest congratulations! Eva is so beautiful. I’ve been a big fan of yours since you started MIC. I had a premature baby 6 years ago and you described everything amazingly. Everything you felt I felt too. Especially the going home without your baby is so hard to explain to someone that hasn’t had to do it. The questions people would ask all the time because my however many weeks old baby was smaller than other babies the same age. Sometimes I’m still triggered when I hear beeping noises 😢 On a positive note my premature baby is now 6 and a half and the tallest in her class and doing amazing. She’s a fighter that’s for sure. You are doing amazing. ❤❤
