Hey buddy, I just run across your channel. I, being one also with cancer, share a lot of feelings that you talk about. I have stage 4 prostate cancer. Mine had metastasized to my bladder, backbone and lymph nodes. I went through 4 1/2 months of chemo at 3 week intervals. So, I can relate to your anxiety, aches throughout your body and the fatigue that hits after the treatments. With all that said, I have the greatest sympathy for you and your family. It is really challenging to get through, but you will. I found that there is a bond that developed with others that have gone through the very difficult time, and getting to know them is comforting. When I was at the lowest of the lows, I seen so many others that were way worse than I was. I will be praying for you and yours. Just take it a day at a time. That's really all you can do. I thank God every night for 1 more day.
@Chipswoodworking4 күн бұрын
Thank you for the kind words, and yeah the best thing so far from this experience has been the connections with others that are going through treatments or have completed treatments. It makes you feel like you are not doing this alone. Even with the best support team some days can be pretty rough so it’s good to have folks in the community you can talk with that have been through it. I hope things go well for you where ever you are on your journey, and it is a great thing to be able to experience one more day. It’s crazy to think about the things that used to get at me, now i know to not take every day for granted and spend as much time with my kids as possible.

Yeah it wasn’t that bad coming up with the ideas for videos. The harder part will be filming them. And I wish the view count limit was lower, I get why it is where it is. But man, when I first started with MC content years ago it was like 100 subs or something to get monetized and that was it haha.

Wow, I can't imagine what it's been like for you. Best of luck going forward. Things look good. I hope the trend continues for you. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in July. I had my prostate removed at the end of August. All indications were that the cancer was isolated to my prostate, though a small (4mm) piece of my bladder neck were found to have cancer. Fortunately, it's prostate cancer as it is much less aggressive than other forms of cancer. I had my 3 month blood test the other day, to check my PSA. The threshold of concern is .2. My test showed < .1, so good news for me so far. All is not rosy however. Removing the prostate also involves removing the internal sphincter of the bladder. It's the one that our brain controls. As a result, I wear a Depends 24 hrs a day. While I don't just pee all over the place, I leak all the time. The standard prognosis is full continence can return anywhere from 3 to 18 months. 90% of men return to full continence in 6 months. The way I'm going, I have no idea how long it will last. While it is a real pain the behind, it is nowhere near what you have had to go through. Hang in there.
@ChipswoodworkingАй бұрын
That’s good to hear that you are at a .1 and they were able to remove it all. I hope that the other complications/side effects will get resolved quickly for you. Yeah my form of lymphoma is pretty aggressive. I think that why I have been having complications after each treatment cycle as I’m doing 4 24 hour treatment days in a row of chemotherapy. It just wears you down. But with that being said hopefully there is some relief coming in the next few months.

Funny story, I love hospital food. I always have and I think it comes from meeting up with my mom while she worked at one when I was a kid. My wife thinks I'm crazy because of that. 3 Weeks may seem like a long time but you'll get through it. I do hope you'll record more while in the hospital, I need updates! :) Merry Christmas friend and I'm so glad things are looking good.

Hang in there. Stay positive. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in July. Had surgery at the end of August. I sell my things on Etsy. Of course, I had to put my shop in vacation mode for a while, prior to the surgery and about 3 weeks after. It's been slow since I re-opened, which has been a double-edged sword. On one hand, I'm not swamped trying to get orders out. On the other hand, the motivation is a little low because it's so slow. Hopefully it will pick up for the holiday season. As for my cancer, the doctor thinks they got it all. They did take some bladder tissue adjacent to the prostate and it came back positive. My next test will be for my PSA, in December. As long as it's below .2, I'm good. Theoretically, without a prostate, it should be zero. Anything above that is cause for concern. In the meantime, I am as incontinent as can be. I wear a Depends 24/7, which is not uncomfortable or anything, but the feeling of leaking is not natural and it can be frustrating at times. They say it can last 3-18 months. Hopefully I'll be on the lower end of that scale. It's only been 2 months so far. While I may not always have the motivation to be in my shop all the time, I still think about new products I could make and I do my research on Etsy. I'll buy some wood and rough cut items in preparation for a sale, which helps when I do get a sale. Regardless of how much I do, I use my woodworking to keep my mind focused on something other than the uncertainty of my cancer, at the moment. The incontinence has a way of reminding me of that uncertainty, so it can be a struggle. But the woodworking definitely helps, even if I'm not always working in my shop. I'll be watching your more recent videos to see how you're progressing. I've been a subscriber for a while but I hadn't seen any videos from you for a while. Now I know. Hang in there.
@Chipswoodworking3 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Im hoping your numbers in december come back lower than 2, that would be great news! I can only imagine what you are going through with your post surgery and treatments. So i hope everything will be better for you. Its good to hear that you are able to get back into the shop. I also lack the motivation and energy most days to do much of anything. But the fact that you are able to get out and make anything in the shop to sell is a bit of inspiration to myself. I realized i havent even switched on the lathe since June. I really need to get out and turn something because like you woodworking always helps take my mind of things and just lets me relax. Ive got some plans for more videos, its also just the motivation and time to do it along with just not having the energy most days while getting treatments.
