The defender needs the discovery wheels fitting on it, they'd look much more scale. Could you do a video showing the wheels swapped over?

The D90 body looks good, but the size of the tires makes it look toyish. I ordered the Range Rover model but my order confirmation reflected Discovery, so I emailed them about it. I've been carving out a 1/24 track in my backyard(our soil is loaded with rock, so I need only shovel off a few inches of soil to expose it), and one of these would be great on it.

the suspension is perfect for individual preference, you can stiffen it in several ways, it probably comes with little to no oil in the shocks as well. I can't wait till they stop giving them away and sell more, I'll give it 6 months, the upgrades and recommendation videos should be plentiful by then, might be a sale by then too....

They certainly have released some interesting models over the past year or so. I like the direction this FCX24M platform is headed and hope to see more models released based on it.

I am a huge S1 E2 sport quattro fan and I cant wait to get this model. I already have its smaller brother which is equally awesome. I just wish they would have done the correct speedline 5 spoke wheels for them. I'm going to try the kyosho turbo scorpion wheels when it arrives as they are the nearest thing looks wise. Hopefully Carisma may offer upgrade wheels at some point. It will also be getting spot light pods on the front to add some detail and also door handle decals from the Tamiya Golf mk2 kit as they shared the same handles in full size.

your camera position is not good. can only see the car mostly, not your work 😞 would be a good idea to switch to bearings if the transmission is open.

Thank you for the feedback! I’m still getting the hang of the top-down camera positioning and noted a few areas where I was working off-camera. I’ll work on improving that going forward. For the bearings, I’ll need to order a few more sets and will overhaul the transmission with those in the future.

I happened upon this brand while browsing and this particular model caught my eye, aesthetically and especially because of the higher voltage rating over the Subaru. What's disturbing is how easily those body posts broke; the impacts were off camera but didn't seem that bad. I think of the body-post plastic on Tamiya, Kyosho, and other brands and that's the last part I'd expect to break on their cars considering the lexan body will flex on impact; Carisma must be using a harder and hence more brittle plastic for those posts.

I was hoping to capture the impact (actually, I was hoping for no impact whatsoever, but…🤷‍♂️), however I wasn’t fast enough. The body posts are more on the brittle side, and I was worried about them before I ran the car. That said, there are other body post options that provide more give and are easy enough to swap onto this chassis. Broken posts aside, this is a fun car and I’m looking forward to running it more (and harder) soon.

I’d have to check how much space is left on the axles, but a wider wheel hex might be possible to give the wheels more width. Outside of the brittle nature of the body posts, this car should be able to withstand more than its share of bumps.

Nice looking for sure however, front and rear bumpers DO NOT fit. The rock sliders did fit on mine. Also, instructions are very poor. The controller looks and feels very cheap, like a toy meant for a child.

Yes its bigger. Its 1/8... About 230 wide, 285 to 300 wheelbase. Also hpi and cen are about that size... Tires are about 80mm high so more clearance

I'm very confused. I just got this thing and the controller light keeps blinking and the robot isn't moving. It did initially for a few seconds, but then the robot just became unresponsive. I got it new in the box, So I don't know what might be the issue. The manual doesn't seem to even acknowledge the light on the controller. Please help me if you can. 😢

The grille on the high trail looks better, but that can easily be fixed on the fcx18. Overall i like the looks of the fcx

Just got one of these rigs. Charged the battery up and my run time is only 5-8 minutes on average. Seems very low. I’m seeing other people saying they are getting much longer. Also when the battery drains the truck starts to stutter. When under throttle it will go, stop, then go again. Maybe I got a bad battery? Any help would be appreciated

It sounds like either your battery or the charger are bad. I recommend contacting Redcat to see if they can help you out.

@@rcnewb thanks man I really appreciate it. It’s so new and reliable there is not a lot of troubleshooting online so I appreciate you taking the time to help. I contacted Redcat and hope the truck is fine and it’s just a battery issue

I believe the first batch(es) had silver links. I bought another FCX18 a month after I posted this video and the links were silver, but I’ve seen more black-link models since then.
