The only problem is in starship troopers they're fighting bugs so huge that a full clip from an assault rifle doesn't stop them so unless they have a very secret vulnerability point knifes are useless

For longer throws i just use the double rotation throw or slow the rotation down by holding the hawk with a thumbs up grip instead of the handshake grip. Middle distance i like the 1.5x spin starting with the blade facing backward and sticking the hawk upside down in the target. Takes a lot of practice but it insanely fun and addicting.

What makes you think that most of us don't also train with fire@rms? After all, it takes far less time commitment, and skill in general, to become proficient with fire@rms, than with throwing we@pons. You should bear that in mind, kid.

Well, sadly, the only “throwing knives“ that I have. Are those cheap ones that are a little too lightweight. Although they’re about 9 1/2 inches long. They’re rather thin. So mostly I just resort to throwing my various fixed blades. All of which are sharp, but also no spin is about the only thing that I have consistency with! So it’s not really a problem.

Sharps are often more fragile, and tend to break under the stress of regular throwing. I do like throwing sharps occasionally, but safety edge knives are just more durable.

Usually anything with a point really, a knife is good for multiple purposes. Plus it doesn't have to be big for throwing, just knowing the rotations if that's what you want.
