I found out, that my tanto hibben knives are best for this (hard wrist) technique. But I am now practicing skanf, for it´s laziness :D (1,5x more pen with half effort) Even the light things can stick easily. To 3,5m no spin, 3,5 - 5,5m half spin, but the consistence is about 3/4 :/

Great video Adam! This is my favourite technique for few reasons 1st when you learn it it is very consistent until 8 meters, 2. The power of the throw is insane. There aren't many videos which teach this technique so i struggled a lot until i found the way. So congratulations for the video many people now can understand it better 🎉

Yep after so many rebounding knives that have left cuts and bruises that reminder is very important. And very interesting you talked about stance it was not something I when first started considered and slowly after getting into various sword and stick fighting and other armed combat styles thought to add stances into my knife throwing which was self taught. Looks like how you put a spin on a baseball throw 🤔 interesting concept

Instinctive half is my best grip so far in the 3 months I been working on it I have some sharp 8 inch drop point throwers that do really good with this grip I have yet to figure out no spin on either of the styles of knives I use to throw but I do plan on making some larger stuff soon since big knives are a issue to buy in california for some reason

I have noticed your technique makes your arm swipe inwards from your elbow and to your hand without disturbing the arch to your throw. The thing that is a bit hard to get is the fact that you throw with your left arm, and most of us have to mirror your technique to the right arm.

I use a piece of Bank line with a magnet on it and I keep that in my pocket so when I walk to go pick up my knives I don't have to bend over I just dropped the magnet on top of the knife and then use the string to pull it up It's like Spider-Man meets magneto

Would be interesting to see what the knives would go through like Kevlar or proper chain mail and cloth armor or even leather armor done to the times period since it was usually layered and even thin plate armor if it's enough penetration and like a water melon behind it for force transfer or even using a balestic gel torso analog for damage With different profiles for the knives in effectiveness old and new styles

Just watched it and that knife just by looking at it was for armor and surprised it pushed as far as it did but what about proper layers of armor with different kinds of knives not made for it I know it's hard on them and a possibility of breaking some or damaging the blades

In fact, the terminology is not quite correct. Maybe you could influence the colleagues with your authority. "No-spin" is when you throw a spear, that is when the tip of the weapon is facing forward during the entire movement. What is now called "no-spin" is actually "half-spin" ;)
