How well will this glue technique hold up in regards to wear and durability compared to a Goodyear welt?

All that work and it's a glued welt to break down with wear is a bit sad

I know this was designed for shoe making, but I wonder if it would work the same way for garment patterns.

Incredible mastery of a hugely important craft! I am detail oriented, but I get too caught up and stressed out over details - I get caught up in wanting things to be too perfect, and I'd be stressed over making th slightest mistake that for most others would be no big deal. Anxiety and depression causes me, and others, too worry incessantly. But watching this master at work is truly mesmerizing. Human hands producing perfection!

I thought they where a good idea. so i sent for one. live in the uk. Paid the price of the item . plus almost the same again for postage. Not only did the item not turn up, but all correspondence has been ignored. no one will answer the emails. Perhaps someone can explain that . send again or refund . what is it going to be. It was a pattern ruler.

So you dont sew the lining to the upper at all seams then?
@christianfreed

You do at the top line, this allows you to last the lining and the upper independently

Gracias!

People like you are inspiring so many of us to make our own Boots. Thanks for sharing. Power to the movement of real men who cannot wear anything less than a real shoe with real leather and a real construction instead of those flimsy assembly line shoes.

Are you using 2 hammers? One which you hit nails with and the other needed strictly for hammering leather? If you use only one hammer won’t the nails dent the hammer face which will show up on the leather if you hammer it? Or is this not a problem. I’m very new to shoemaking and do not know. Thank you!

The ruler that you present in this video and the one you sell online are very different. You should make another video presenting what the new ruler can do. I personally prefer the old ruler .
