What Would You Say Is A Better Machine. Classic 2 or SA 250 ? And Why
@WolfofWeldSteet3 ай бұрын
250 is a big ol machine, I think the SA250 is DC only. I honestly thought the classic 2 had a lack of AC power. I run a pipe pro now

Probably already painted but I have a 2014 tradesmen gunmetal grey. My truck was ordered with chrome bumpers and black plastic cap. I left the cap black and installed OEM black fender flairs and I get alot of compliments on how good it looks. The flairs go right over the the cap to the bumper. The flairs were a little lighter than the cap so I sprayed everything with black bumper paint. Just a suggestion I think it would look great with the white truck.

So I'm 24 and I've been in the offshore workplace and now currently aerospace on the technician side. Unfortunately I am already certified 1-6G and in 4 processes and my job apt Boeing doesnt involve any welding whatsoever. I went from commercial diving in the gulf to building aerospace segments for NASA and I feel very unfulfilled. I am wondering if 24 is nearing the panic point for starting out as a shop welder when I probably should be in the oilfield helping.

Honestly the Vulcans aren’t bad
@timberslasher48994 ай бұрын
My dad bought a Vulcan Omni 220 multi process from Harbor, and I have a Titanium 220 stick from harbor. They weld really decent. Come with crap leads and gun. The biggest downfall is the crap duty cycle. The 220 titanium stick will stay with you pretty good if you are taking time to clean your slag and stuff as you go, as long as you are down around 170 aps or so. But the Omni 220mp has probably the worst duty cycle of any welder I have ever used that claims to be rated over 200 amps. But I guess Im expecting a lot since my primary welders I use are Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DC, Miller Bobcat 250, Miller Idealarc 250, Forney 210 transformer mig, and a Forney 270 transformer mig. Im loving Forney. I work primarily on heavy equipment and normally materials 3/8" and on up, so I am burning 200 amps or more a lot. And I bought a Forney 210 five years ago, and it will beat out my Millermatic 250 in about anyway. So last winter, when I wanted a bigger newer mig, I considered the Millermatic 255, and I ruled it out because it's inverter. Considered the Lincoln power mig 260, but the airgas salesman smarted off to me about my tax exemption. So I bought the Forney 270, which was about a grand cheaper and I couldn't be happier. I have welded with it pulling 210 to 220 amps for so long that my gloves were getting hot enough to burn me, and the weld quality doesn't change. I also have a little Forney 140 flux and a Forney 45P Pro plasma that clean cuts 7/8" beautifully. They are supposed to be developing an engine driven portable around 300 amps. I love my Bobcat 250, and my Idealarc 250 is a freaking monster! But when it comes to wire welding and plasma cutting, I have gone green and not Harbor Green, although my Titanium 220 that I bought just out of curiosity is tolerable. But the Omni 220 kinda sucks.
