I really think if you are catching fish to be sold as pets or any other purpose than food you should have to catch them by hand no net only bare hand..... before I get attacked I actually buy wild caught and tank raised cichlids. It should cost more if someone wants wild caught genetics in their fish tanks

Boy I would love to buy some of the OB’s your collecting these make great new breeding stocks to make sure the wild stocks survive. These fish in captivity breed like rabbits so your concern for the species is unwarranted. You should really put your efforts in teaching these people how to manage there resources and not pollute the environment.

How would you go about catching a female of the same species? This was never clear to me :)

So cool, would you please share the species name of thoss you catched? Looks like OBs but i thought they don't exist in the wild
@henrik2762 жыл бұрын
They are metriaclima zebra 👍 The OB gene is natural in several mbuna species, the OB peacocks and haps are hybrids mixed with mbuna that carry the OB gene = man made.

A Precious net. They tear so easily. Shipped only from Europe. 5mm mesh. Some fish are too small to capture even with this small mesh. Reason is one of them. Much smaller then one can see in aquarium trade these days. I had to fold the net over in order the entangle it enough to secure it.

Hundreds??? Naive, cichlids inhabit some of THE largest freshwater lakes in the world, and the lakes are full of these fish.
