@Gambit585 жыл бұрын
Not really an issue that this type of collecting will decimate the population. Remember that people fish for food in the lake and they kill 100 times as many and these fish will hopefully live and breed for generations in the hobby.
@kingimage015 жыл бұрын
Wrong, it is an issue. The number of fish being caught mainly for the aquarium trade is having a serious effect on fish populations in the lake. Do some research.
@Gambit585 жыл бұрын
@@kingimage01 I've been in the hobby probably longer than you've been alive so you do the research. Lake Tanganyika with variations of populations existing in very limited areas is much more sensitive to this than Lake Malawi. If you're arguing that the hobby is taking more fish than the local fisherman take daily in lake Malawi you are as clueless as you sound.

A Precious net. They tear so easily. Shipped only from Europe. 5mm mesh. Some fish are too small to capture even with this small mesh. Reason is one of them. Much smaller then one can see in aquarium trade these days. I had to fold the net over in order the entangle it enough to secure it.

Boy I would love to buy some of the OB’s your collecting these make great new breeding stocks to make sure the wild stocks survive. These fish in captivity breed like rabbits so your concern for the species is unwarranted. You should really put your efforts in teaching these people how to manage there resources and not pollute the environment.
