Your revs is still very high for cruising on the open road. I am in the process of purchasing a std sj410, might consider the Nissan covertion later. What can one do to bring revs down a bit to make it more drivable when cruising, and considering the fuel consumption as well? Start messing with diff ratios? Can end up a very expensive exercise I guess. I am not into heavy 4x4'ing, might also hardly use the low range. A bit of farm road and sand... Your thoughts please.

Hi, i never use low range on my SJ, i think what will probably be the best is to change the gear ratios in the tranfer case, i'm happy with the ratios that I have, I never travel more than 100km from home with it. more than that, i will put I will put it on a trailer. ps. here I also just do sand and "bush" driving next to the Orangeriver. it's been a while since i've driven her. rust got hold of her and needs to be removed. thanks for watching.

Hi I enjoy the videos and information. Could you tell me what revs you are at doing 80kmh in 5th. I have an sj410 which I bought recently with a Toyota 4k 1300 motor and 4 speed gearbox. It does 3500rpm at 70kmh in 4th and I need more speed. Std transfer box and diffs with 215/80R15’s.

Hi Brian sorry for the late reply, I run the tire size as you. The rpm is close to 3700rpm at 70kph in 5th. But I rarely do the speed. As you know I also run the nissan gearbox and standard transfer case and standard diffs. I have never used low range. As the ratios are already low for me. I will probably make a video on the low range speeds if you are interested.. thanks for watching

I used the nissan 1400 radiator. no cowling. also fitted an electrical fan with manual switch. Thanks for watching...

Hello, on your ARO 10 on the front axle the brake calipers and discs are exactly the same as those used on Renault 12, but on the rear axle it is a bit more complicated. On the rear certain Renault 12 Break/Combi wheel cylinders will fit but the hole is smaller than on the ARO 10 wheel cylinders. If you only need new seals for the rear wheel cylinders you can use Land Rover Series 2/3 seals, but you need to check the dimensions. The rear brake shoes, drums and wheel cylinders will only fit from a Dacia PickUp. Good luck!
