hydrogen looks very ideal. But the prices of corresponding devices are quite expensive since hydrogen atom is too tiny to restrict. It is better to build a hydrogen processing hub (for electricity plant, heavy traffics) rather than private vehicles (sedan, SUV, etc.). I respect what Japanese companies have done for human race in exploring the boundary of hydrogen energy, but I strongly suggest they can find a practical and feasible way to popularize hydrogen. It should be a long run for 50 years even more than a century, the research investment should be sustainable.

I dont think, that properly aligned companies give a fuck about getting to Mars. Research comes first. If it so happens that our capabilities come closer to a real chance of getting to Mars or trying to establish there.
