How do you find the lure vs. bait fishing on the beach? Nice Tailor, something else I haven't tried yet, caught a 44cm last week and right after I put it back it hit me that it would have made a nice meal, duh LOL Nice report for the locals or visitors, nice job Steve!
@SteveOutsideКүн бұрын
@LarrysFishing bait definitely does better... I just enjoy lure fishing more. I mainly do 5 casts on the beach reports because it does several things.. if there's weed it'll grab some. It'll also indicate side current. Plus the suspense of catching a fish in 5 casts or not. Otherwise it's a pretty boring beach report (All be it helpful to many fishos)

Liking your videos Steve. I was wondering what rod and reel specs you're using for the lure today? I'll be up there few several days from boxing day and looking forward to a bit of drone fishing for gummies and reds (hopefully). Cheers!
@SteveOutsideКүн бұрын
@pcaman2003 thanks mate.. The rod is the Shimano Sonic 10ft surf Graphite. The reel is the new Ryobi Furacana 6500. It's good for casting the heavier lures.. Really gets good distance.

Great work Steve….christened the old slice….was never going to get the use in the bottom of my lure box…LOL. What good conditions initially yet that darn weed on the beach stuffs up things quickly. Hope you can get that drone back in action and nail some of those sharks out there at present. Also, I would not be surprised should there be an increase in flatties soon. Thanks for sharing and Tight Lines.
@SteveOutsideКүн бұрын
@Mark-ew5jm yeah the drone is fine, I used it up at Jamieson. I do plan on flying a few baits out this week (wind permitting) Not really interested in sharks though.. More interested in Reds. 🤞 I knew it wouldn't take long for that chrome slice to produce a fish. Thanks Mark 👍

Good result with that flattie Steve. I've just come back from Apollo Bay. No weed there, except for occasional lumps of kelp washed up after recent stormy weather, and masses growing all over the bottom where I fished in the harbour. Shiploads of small Wrasse, Toadies and a Grass Whiting. Nice squid too - very good pan fried!

Hey SteveO. You caught my *FAVOURITE FISH* I love the old flatties. That cook up looked delicious mate. I heard you say that you and Partner PK were off to do a bit of trout fishing. Trout are not my favourite fish unless it has been out to sea for a while. The Trout in the UK go out to sea for a wee bit and that improves the taste. The land locked ones "Ain't" that good. Tight lines old mate. I am planning to get down to the Frankston Pier early next week but have to fist see my cardiologist on Monday for a check up. Have a safe and enjoyable trip old friend. I need to talk to you about drones when you get back. Cheers!
