This had a bit of everything, including that cool looking bridge. Have never been to that part of Victoria, but what a gorgeous section of river, despite that water clarity. Nice to see you get on a Trout, but a shame about all that weed back at the beach. I have yet to try Salmon outside of fish cakes or curry, I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
@SteveOutside27 күн бұрын
@LarrysFishing try the smaller ones.. 35 to 45cm. I make sure to bleed them quickly, then cut away all the dark stuff/blood from the fillets. And you've got yourself some quality table fish. Thanks Larry, cheers mate 👍

Those poppers looked good, Steve! Quality ones are hard to come by these days. When I was young (40 years ago). Every convenience store and sport store on the East Coast of Tassie would stock an array of beautifully handmade ones, all locally made. Have searched Facebook and the Internet, but noone seems to roll their own these days. Pity, as they were far superior!
@SteveOutsideАй бұрын
@franksaunders6534 yeah I'm always on the lookout for locally made ones, but haven't found any. Anyway I'll give these one a run in NSW next week. Thanks Frank 👍

Good to see some new country mate, Keep at it, CYA 2.5 K subs , great stuff..
@SteveOutsideАй бұрын
@WallaceLivingFree there's not much happening on my beach, I might as well try other stuff. Yeah the channel is moving quite nicely now... as long as I keep moving. Cheers Wallace 👍

Excellent vid Steve , really enjoyed the freshwater , it would be great to see more trout / freshwater trips as there’s plenty of good water not far from you. Between that breakfast and the fish burger you’re doing very well on the chew . 😂

I’d be loosening the belt and have to have a little lay down after that breakfast Steve….LOL! That tropical fillet of fish burger was magnificent…pity about the fishing but I’m sure you’ll smash em on the Sapphire Coast…if you get to Tura Beach ( fishes more consistently than Merimbula in my opinion) mate you will have a ball…fishing the channels, no more than a 25m cast and easy access. Safe travels.
@SteveOutsideАй бұрын
@Mark-ew5jm thanks Mark... yeah I saw you hauling in the Salmon with Larry. I was taking notes... lol Don't suppose you tried any lures in that spot?
@Mark-ew5jmАй бұрын
That was a lot of fun but tough conditions…. Larry is a true gentleman…I have fished there many times mainly due to the ease of access as I have a few mobility issues with hips and knees… didn’t use lures but there were others fishing up from us tossing lures… they took a few . I use those little occy skirts with a 2/0 circle hook and bead to stop the skirt pulling over the hook.. you can spice the skirt with a strip of squid or blue or pillie cube…. Usually effective there. Mate, you will have so much fun there.
@SteveOutsideАй бұрын
@Mark-ew5jm ease of access is becoming important to as well nowadays. I'm currently going to give the lures a go as well. I'm looking forward to it.. not much happening here at the moment.. lol

I love Noojee, have fished that 1st spot you went too and never caught a thing
@SteveOutsideАй бұрын
@gunder3 the water there was very dirty.. not sure how it usually looks there. The smaller streams are pristine, I'll be focusing on those next time.

Hey mate. Great vid again. Where did you get those gloves???? I’ve got a mate who is a beach worming legend but struggling to do it now due to his hands locking up when they get cold. I want to buy him a pair to try. Cheers mate, absolutely love your vids.

@stevebrydie7219 G'day Steve, thanks heaps mate. The gloves are from Malu Hunter fishing on Facebook. Good price and quality gloves. I'll leave the link below: facebook.com/share/p/d2dsxonNTpvQyRyb/

You were fishing in my territory SteveO. Loved the look of that *ICE COLD AMBER FLUID AT THE NOOJ. The tucker at the Nooj is good gear as well mate.* The last time I fished Noojee I caught "Sweet Fanny Adams" and lost a lure. Trout is not my favourite fish mate. I like the ocean stuff. Mate, can I ask you a question please. Do you need a fishing licence in NSW when over 70 years of age? The last time I fished Pambula I had to get a NSW licence but now almost 80 years of age, would I have get a licence. I am looking at going back to Merimbula if I can coax the bride into travelling that far again. I would appreciate your advice please. PS. Safe travels my friend!
@SteveOutsideАй бұрын
@angus-eats apparently if you're over the age of 18 you need a fishing licence in NSW. However if you hold a current pensioner concession card issued by Centerlink, you don't need one. The link below will take you to the page, and you can have a read: www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/recreational/recreational-fishing-fee/exemptions
